You have to ask yourself, do I feel lucky? ... Australia is 42nd in the list of countries by financial reserves per capita

Malaysia, Algeria, and Thailand are ahead of Australia. China is one place behind.

China has the highest total at US$ 3.09 Trillion Compared to Australia's total US$ 54.3 Billion and USA US$ 117.6 Billion.

With all the revenue from iron ore, gold, LNG, and other resources it would be expected that Australia would be better placed. What that says is that the profits from resource sales do not stay in Australia, probably because large resource projects in Australia are financed by borrowed foreign money.

Switzerland with no resources has US$ 72,769 per capita compared to Australia's US$ 2,251. Switzerland is >32 x Australia's reserves per capita.

Who is picking Australia's pocket?
