Why can't we leave the country?

Okay, so I actually just found out that permanent residents or citizens cannot leave the country other than to go to NZ. Why? I was under the impression that our travel ban was just for people coming IN to the country.

How many people are losing their jobs or businesses because of lockdowns? How many people aren't allowed to see elderly relatives? Some things are worse than death. Ill take my chances with freedom. People should protect their vulnerable and themselves however they want. Australia has gone nowhere in terms of herd immunity. Even after the "vaccines" you will have to open up and let the disease in. Its not good to be locked down forever.

I actually think herd immunity is not going to work this time.

But NOT TO Worry!! we are already doomed from other excesses of the human race.

Pollution has been reducing the ability of males to produce efficient sperm, for decades now. Males of ALL species, and yep that does include us.!!

The results of our own actions will mean all you guys are shooting blanks , and so we will disappear. Not a moment too soon.

Yea!!!!b i s h o p:violin:bgrin

But of course, women don't actually need men, what is it.? parthenogenesis?

Sorry to hear about your mum. The website mention exemptions, so I took note of that. Without a specific reason, we're not allowed to leave. I don't see why we cannot leave on the basis of what your brother was told, that we might not be allowed back for a while.

You misread it. His brother COULD LEAVE, but no guarantees on returns for now.
So you can leave anytime you like, essentially. Altho NOT for a frivolous and stupid and pathetic wish for an overseas holiday ( at least I don't think a holiday is excuse enough to fly. Who knows these days.?).

Yeah, I didn't say that his brother could NOT leave. Obviously his reason was accepted and he was granted an exemption. My point is that I don't see why we cannot leave for ANY reason on that exact same basis - that we might not be allowed back for a while.

No, not without an exemption.

OK ... my brother inquired about travel to see mum in Italy just she passed away (Dec) and was told he could go to Italy, but once there he might not be allowed back for a while .. thats why I said I wasn't sure it was right.
Sorry to hear about your mama, and how difficult it is... grieving on its own is very sad, but to not be able to see your parent because of these restrictions, my heart goes out to you and family 💐🌹

My Mum died, and I wasn't there. Nothing to do with Covid... long time gone now,

Many of us have been unable to be there.
That is Life, and that is DEATH, and none of us have a say in any of it, regardless.
