Hmm, good one.

Was it the very first song played by radio station Double J (later to become Triple J) - You Just Like Me Cause I'm Good In Bed?

You know Shirley””””
One of our best, from the '70s.

Glam rock.

Had a great songwriter.

Lead singer was tragically killed in a helicopter crash - a genuinely really nice guy
lead singer “Shirley” I think was called that because of his curly hair? As in Shirley Temple?
But... here’s a bit of interesting info, Shirley was a carpenter by trade, and hence the name Skyhooks, as tradies they would be carrying a large window frame and needed to put it down, not able to hold it forever hence saying they needed “skyhooks”.
it’s always good to have different skills in life, after the music band Skyhooks, Shirley was in a tv home improvement show with his DIY carpentry skills, a show called “Our house”,very similar to “Better homes and gardens” currently on our tv.

Before that, he was the host of an after school kids' TV show - Shirl's Neighbourhood.

Remember Claude The Crow ?

A keen surfer too and, from my experience, a teetotaler.

I worked on a couple of Party Boys shows in the early '80s, when Shirl was the singer.

While Kevin Borich and the others were throwing back cans of Fosters (yes, people really used to drink that shit), Shirl was drinking tea.
