Yes!

“A Climate Chronology’s” initial entry, from 1824, notes that Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier, a French mathematician and physicist, hypothesized the atmosphere played a significant role in mediating temperature on Earth in the article “General Remarks on the Temperature of the Earth and Outer Space.”

The second entry, from 1856, describes American scientist Eunice Foote’s experiment and prediction that carbonic acid, or carbon dioxide, has a warming impact on the atmosphere. All entries are referenced and linked to documents, news or commentary.

As a mere woman, of course, Eunice could not present her paper at the relevant gathering of scientists!

You should read the story of Rosalind Franklin. The true discoverer of the double helix structure of DNA. And, how she was snubbed by the Nobel Committee, who awarded their Prize to Watson, Crick, and Wilkins(a researcher in Franklin's lab). It was Wilkins who provided Watson and Crick with the x-ray crystallography photos(without Franklin's knowledge). It was these photos that led Watson and Crick in a new direction. Both were totally on the wrong path until these photos turned up.

I have spent many years researching the true contribution of women in science.

Anyway, back to the more mundane. What is the largest country(by area) on the planet?

Yes, she took XRays of crystals of DNA. Don’t think she worked out the structure tho.

The largest country would be Russia. If not—Australia

They were never sure of the DNA's structure(single, double, or circular strands of molecules), and all their assumptions were wrong. That is, until the photos were handed to them by Wilkins. The full story is truly amazing.

Russia is correct.

Ummmmmm....boring as bat shit Monk. Reckon you should stay away from these specialty areas of interest you have which are really not generally shared. Best is just to keep it at Trivia...general knowledge stuff. Pub quizzes material.

The cycle that caused a regular succession of major ice ages over the last million years or so is the Milankovitch Cycle, named after the Serbian astronomer who realised that variations in the Earths orbit and changes in the direction of the axis of rotation increased or decreased sunlight reaching the surface north of 65°N latitude. Only happened in the last million years after CO2 had dropped below 300ppm. It is now nearly 420ppm.

Maybe a worker on a station (ranch) was fired he was given a bag with some flour and sugar in it, so he could tramp to the next station looking for work? Assuming it is Australian slang.
