Maybe you can answer, alternatively, what was the last battle of the American Civil war(Not last MAJOR battle)? This battle took place on May 13th, 1865. Or, what was the first state to succeed from the union on Dec. 30th, 1860? Or, name the southern American politician, born into slavery, and stole and american confederate military ship?Yeah, looked it up.
The last battle of the war was won by the Confederates. Was in Texas.
The first state to secede was of course South Carolina—it got treated pretty harshly in Sherman’s March through the Carolinas. The soldiers considered that state had incited the rebellion and war.
