All being well I should be in the Launceston Farmers Market this time next Saturday. Looked at the the Bass Strait forecast, far out, huge waves and swell there now, hope that settles down soon!

Yup, drive to Pt Melbourne, onto the Spirit of Tassie, drive off next morning in Devonport. My car will be full of crap I do not need right now, store that in the garden shed on my block. Also means I have my car there.

Departing nice and early, aiming for 4.30am(3 alarm clocks to wake me at 4.00am.) Means no traffic in Adelaide, be on the freeway pretty quick, no traffic on freeway. Stop in Tailem Bend or Tintinara truck stop for 5 minutes to buy a coffee, then onto Nhill. That is a fair hike with one short stop but doable cause I will be fresh and full of adrenalin.

Horsham for 30 minute stop and breakfast.

Short break in Ballarat, 15 minute walk

Refuel in Rockbank (so land in Tassie with a full tank) aim to leave there no later than 2.00pm, get to the ferry carpark no later than 3.00pm.(Traffic starts getting busy around 3.00pm.) Will check on Yarra Tunnel website for road closures/restrictions in Rockbank. Journey back home has more and shorter stages—no adrenalin left at all :)

No time for fishing! Must be good fishing there tho, estuarine and marine—places good for whiting and flathead. Dunno about salmon fishing, that’d be ace catching one tho!

I will have another offset smoker in Tassie. That is hot smoking, cooking and flavoring the food. I want to build a cold smoker too: a shed rather like an outdoor dunny in size and shape (but not smell I hope!) A few metres away a fire pit with a covered trench leading to the cold smoker, the smoke enters the smoker from a hole in the floor. Food hangs up near the ceiling, the smoke preserves and flavors the food—so you have to cook it. Be neat!

Interesting ..thanks Monk, now I don't need to do it.

Hey that poor Dog... his mistress is definitely NOT a dog-whisperer.

You have to see Tasmania tho, awesome!

Have to watch your step on the deck of the holds—those red spots are tiedowns for rough weather and can trip you up! This is a ferry not a cruise ship

The cabins are NOT stuffy, not even that tiny cabin with four blokes in it, air is pumped in then out, not recirculated. I hate recirculated air and NEVER once felt like the cabin was stuffy. Tiny, yes, stuffy no.

Dinner used to cost $42.50, before my second I was advised to eat before boarding and did—some restaurants and shops around Waterfront Place. Will still do that, was not impressed by the food on the ship! I eat breakfast at Elizabeth Town Centre—just a 24 hour bakery/restaurant. This time will skip that, get to the Launceston Farmers Market, eat something there while food shopping, get to my B&B early, bung food in fridge and on to the block to meet a guy can do my rotary hoeing (with my bung shoulders would rather pay to have it done than do it myself!) Plus a commercial machine will get deeper into the soil.

You need more bedding than that, need to make it like a padded cell. You may recall that in the last trip there I did not have time to do that, the seas were a bit rough and Demi was stressed to the max (rapid, continuous nose licking the sign of that) in the morning in Devonport.

This time I will have space—a twin bed cabin ALL TO MYSELF! With a porthole, not an interior cabin.

The “recliner” lounge is a misnomer! Fucking chairs only recline 10° at most making sleep in them fucking impossible. Cheap tho, like no extra charge.

Got the QR code on my mobile. Seems it is on. Am pretty much packed. Car is at tyre place being checked for damage to tyres from running over that fucking lamppost. Then can empty the car and try to load it with 4 plastic totes of crap, 2 suitcases, my “day bag” and some cardboard boxes of food. Plus tarps and some other crap.

$230, two new front tyres (he said there were balloons on the tyres) so two new tyres on the front and apparently the rear tyres were WAY off alignment so those are now good. Maybe too much—we are held to ransom by these places aren’t we? But confidence driving 500 miles/725Km to Pt Melbourne soon. What is peace of mind worth?

Stollen out the oven, will have a shower then hit the Central Market, buy sis some veges. Wound up like an overtaut violin string!

Just checked the Corona virus page on the abc website. Still good! Not long now! This Sunday I have scheduled to make 2-3 trips to Bunnings Invermay for sheep shit and things like that. Think then I will take the rest of the day off, just do some driving around, maybe visit that Alps&Amici store/cafe or go to this restaurant I visited in 2016 with sis, niece & greatniece.
