Died just now aged 99 years and 10 months. Had a heart operation, was home in Windsor Castle for 3 weeks after leaving hospital.

Womaniser.

He didn't get his letter from the Queen. It is sad... How ANY royal/any relationship that lasted as long is unknown.

Vale Prince Phillip, Queen's Consort.

Times change... the future is unknown.

We should become a Republic.

OH but don't let Morrison anywhere near it.! Or any PARTY.

I think we should, at an appropriate time..? soon.. to dissolve Parliament and all Ministers et al.. the Federal Public Service can run the Country ( much more effectively without Ministerial intervention, by the way) whilst everything is on the line.

Sluggards and scum like Christensen and attendees.. like all those OTHER scumbags getting SOOO FAT on OUR money.. they need the old heave-ho.

The current Morrison Government and all the attendees need wiping. That is obvious. Let us do the correct, the right, thing and take back our power as people, where we CAN call OUT these sleazebags.

I hate it that these 19th Century Men run this country.

Time to DO BETTER.!

Anti science. Menzies telling the CSIRO in the 1950s not to work on computers, just wheat and sheep.

This century, cutting climate change research.

Yup. Two VERY stupid things. We need to know—places are going to get too hot to grow wheat, then what?

May he RIP.

I suspect the Queen will follow shortly.
Once she goes I suspect that the republic debate will start again in earnest.

Then someone else is put on the throne and the republic debate is over for another generation.

Australians are gutless wonders.

It is fear of standing on our own two feet will stymie the move to a republic.
The UK's willingness (or otherwise) to assist us will have SFA to do with whether or not we are a Republic of British origin.

It will to most people. They hang on to the monarchy as if there is a real connection or benefit to us.

Yep, I thought the same thing.

As much of a prick as he was, I think she really loved him.

She probably won't last long now, and once she's gone the Republic can get underway.

Could we correct the spelling in the topic title please.?

Least we can do is spell it right. I know it's a typo. OK

they pretty much live in a gold gilded prison ... after all this time, I'm sure she loves him even if just because he was her principle support base in her 'prison.'
