No, it's the law itself that I don't like. But I've been raised in a country where the right to peacefully assemble is a constitutional right. Your freedoms are more a matter of governmental largesse and can be rescinded at will. UK and France are like that as well.it's not your criticism of the country thats the problem .. it's your defense of someone deliberately and knowingly breaking the law.
I remember when France banned muslim women from wearing head scarfs (or was it face coverings?) Anyways, I remember thinking wow, just wow.
Personally, I don't like the practice. But it's not the government's role to dictate what you can wear or whether you can practice a religious or cultural custom. But France, UK, and Australia are not the U.S. You guys are OK with it because you're used to it. It's not OK to an American.
