well honestly I;d start from the beginning. They are all basically a running narrative of this scottish copper's life....... some of them have have literally brought me to tears, but also a lot of humor, amongst it... but aye yerrr in fa a real experience, if they appeal.

John Rebus is one of the most famous figures in fiction Crime. I'll look the first few up

That should be Ian Rankin...... apologies all

Knots and Crosses is probably a good start...
Death is Not the End
and Dead Souls are the first two chronologically
Set in Darkness amd Let it Bleed also early

Going into Day 5 now. I feel pain in my sinuses, especially when I bend over. When I bend over I get a sharp pain that feels like it’s right behind my right eye. I would rate this general pain in the sinuses as annoying but not acute.

My sense of taste is not gone, but it’s diminished. The coffee I’m drinking right now tastes weak even though I know it’s fairly strong black coffee.

@Shellandshilo1956 I hope it was okay to say “black” coffee.

The good news is that my temperature is normal, and I don’t feel anything bad going on in my lungs. My appetite is pretty close to normal.

My case is what they’re calling a “breakthrough” case which is when a fully vaccinated person gets sick. Fortunately, reports are that only about 1% of the hospitalizations and deaths from Covid are with vaccinated people.

Right now I feel about the same as yesterday- not better, not worse.

*sigh* I’m tired of this! I want to hurry up and fully recover and get back to normal.

soon ....
and
don't bend over and have a go at clearing your sinuses.

Chilies and ginger are always a good idea.

Lots of fully vaccinated people are catching Covid... remaining infectious at the same time.
Hope you're all better soon... just need a bit of mellow. Acceptance .

am still absorbing the info.

I am not surprised though, not because I drink a lot, but of course that wasn't a good thing to do. No I've been through a shit load of life, and am surprised I am the age I have attained now.

How AM I? Low energy, sleep a lot, too bloated to eat or drink much really. Don't feel hungry much. My overall bloods (tests) are not much different to normal.
Got another one next week, then see my GP then find out about the results and then have an appt for an endoscopy.
THAT will be an experience .. haven't had one of those before.

So sorry you're going through all of this, Pink. I hope the adjustments you're making bring you some relief.

I'm very glad you seem to have contracted a mild case, Seth. Boredom sucks but it's comforting in it's own way.

How's the rest of the household doing?

Thats a very good point. My wife didn't get covid until almost 2 weeks after my son and I began quarantine on the other end of the house. Keep an eye on the Mrs.
Thanks mothra and Tex. My wife and I are keeping apart as much as possible. I’ve been sleeping in our living room ever since I first got sick. She is not sick so far, and she is fully vaccinated.

I’m sure I got this at work last Wednesday. I worked with one of the academy classes that day, and now 6 students in that class have come down with it. This morning the academy sent that whole class home. They probably won’t be back for a month or two.

I’m coughing a bit more today, but my throat doesn’t feel sick. I’m sure it’s being caused by sinus drainage, and I am glad to have it. Less discomfort in the sinuses that way. The achiness is still noticeable but slightly less than yesterday so that’s good.

Unfortunately, my 88 year old mother in-law spent time at our house last Friday and Saturday before we knew I had it, and now she’s got it. So far it’s a severe sore throat, no fever. I’m going to take her to her doctor tomorrow. The good news is that she is fully vaccinated, and she is very healthy for a woman of her age - slender, no serious underlying conditions, and no bad habits. Still, I’m worried about her.

So that’s the latest.

It doesn't matter whether you were fully, partially, or never vaccinated. Or, even if you have already fully recovered from the disease. It doesn't even matter if someone wants to label an otherwise natural occurrence a "breakthrough case".

A virus doesn't give a shit about labels, species, age, gender, or even race. It doesn't make a conscious choice to infect people who are immune, vaccinated, infected or not-infected. It is truly an equal-opportunity viron.

All that matters is the condition of our immune system, and how quickly it can respond to the pathogen. Hopefully, before it can reach the lung tissues. The symptoms you are describing(fatigue, upper-respiratory tract inflammations, headaches, general aches and pain, etc.) are all typical flu symptoms. As long as you are not obese, have diabetes or asthma, vomiting, have diarrhea, or some other ongoing organ dysfunctions, you WILL get through this. And, will be looking none the worse for wear.

So sit back and enjoy a good book. And, just let your body do what it was designed to do, since the creation of mankind.

The things that amuse grand-kids. I made that blue seat, and re-set the ropes so it was all square etc., as they (and the weather) had busted the original. Painted it blue (his favourite colour) and the World is at peace!

kids love swings ..... and trampolines ...mine won't get on them for sometimes months, then they'll have a month or two when they can't stay off them .. then ignore it for a few more months and so it repeats. Many times I've contemplated getting rid of them only to be grateful that I was too lazy to do so later

There is a brown paper bag chock full of Uncanny's boiled lollies (yeah, I know....most , if not all, of you will not know of Uncanny....ancient PA history) who can figure out the ancestry/citizenship of that bloke on the swing.
