Finally have put the table saw together. Jayzuz.....noisy bugger! Will also be adding some braces to the legs to make it a lot more rigid.

Ive set mine up without the guard and without the guide on top (the black thing with the red in the middle of it)

That red thing in the middle keeps my fingers further away from that blade and the further my fingers are away from that blade, the better I like it.

I'll likely get rid of the guard when I get some practical knowledge of how that beast operates with that blade spinning at a zillion times a second. I am happy to take baby steps.

I wasn't even sure what the purpose of the red thing in th emiddle was when I unpacked it so I just put it to one side. I found the guard prevented me cutting thicker pieces ... it was easier to get rid of it. When it's not in use I wind the blade down below the table so the kids can't touch it.

Having said that, I've been using saws since I was about 15yrs old so they don't frighten me.

That’s the trouble usually… you know and do something so well and so often…. complacency can be a problem. Happened to hubby with chainsaw and he slipped on a small log and fell backwards with chainsaw in hand… he held it up to avoid being chopped but cracked his ankle instead which was the lesser of two evils.

I'm never complacent with it. I love my fingers too much for that.

@pinkeye Thinking of you. Hope all is well.
Hi friends, thanks for the good thoughts.

Yeah so I got a second opinion, from my long-term most lovely man My psychiatrist, today. He is an OLD DUDE and knows his shit. He is also stilla registered GP as well.

I explained why I wasn't in agreement with my GP, handed him all the results, which he considered with great attention. He actually groaned lightly.... so it looks like my GP is correct and I have a serious disease which is the cause the bloating etc... not my gut. He is genuinely concerned and I respect his knowledge so I'll make peace with my GP...I wouldn't believe her, we had some interesting discussions.

My liver. At the moment I am feeling a bit better... will see both my docs again in a week or so.
I can't say I am surprised.
It ISN"T Cancer...

it's macronodular cirrhosis.

And the only thing I can do is cut down and then stop drinking. Crikey. !!

Anyway I am not real energetic so this is the first time i've turned on this thing since I last posted.

Will say G'Day again soon.

I'm glad it wasn't cancer and hopefully, you can control it with your behavior. I wish you well.

My liver tried to shut down last year during my gallbladder episode. My doctor told me to not drink alcohol until my liver numbers are back to normal. After 3 months, they were still slightly elevated. I quit checking my liver when I was distracted with covid. I just decided that I didn't need to drink. I don't drink much anyway.
