That is OK. When temps stay high at night for 3-4 days in a row is when the heat deprives you of sleep and you suffer. Less now with AC I guess.

Off to Clare today, stay there tonight, then on to Burra and home.

Lunch at Skillogalee winery today, yum!

We only get down to the low 70s at night here. (23C) It's pouring down rain right now.

I went to a realtor near Lake Tawakoni today, since I was working in that direction. 5 acre lots are going from $90k-125k. A little more than I was hoping, but still a possibility. Some were heavily wooded and very near Lake Tawakoni State Park, and others were nearly treeless former pasture land. An annual State Park Pass ($70) would give me access to a less crowded boat dock and RV amenities and access to state parks all over Texas.

If I downsize the land to 2 acres, it would be much cheaper. The drawback is that you need 5 acres to qualify for the agricultural property tax exemption. That would sting in my retirement years when I will be making less money.

I think I would go for the 5 acre lot and put a very conservative little home on it.

I wish it was pouring down rain here.

Five acres here in that sort of place would cost a great deal more than $125,000.00 (even allowing for the conversion!)
5=10 years ago it would have only cost about $50k. People are moving to Texas in droves and construction is booming.

Flood-prone desert land without water is not very attractive.

If it is Houston, that is very flood-prone and susceptible to frequent hurricanes.

This is neither. The area is covered with trees and gets over a meter of rainfall per year. I won't buy in a flood zone. 325 km North of Houston in East TX. Houston is at see level.

Now you have me worried about your credentials because Americans don't measure in km.

well hi there.. I've been absent mostly, lately, because I am unwell...
not sure what it is yet... or what they are....

Have some tests to do ASAP, following an MRI of my neck.
Nuclear Medicine is required. Not many places do it.
No appointments made yet, and it is a bit of a mystery, because apparently I have what appears to be infection in 2 cervical vertebra. 2/3 and 3/4. In the bones..?
Not what I expected at all.

I should have asked my doctor more questions, how frustrating.

Might have to resort to Google to look up the terms mentioned on the referral.

That doesn't sound good. Could it be leukemia? Hopefully they can rule that out. I hope you get good care and a positive outcome. Write your questions down before your next visit so you don't forget to ask. Doctors can be hard to reach for questions when they aren't scheduled to be with you.

This is a primarily Australian forum and I'm trying to speak the language. There are rights and there is common courtesy. I know the difference. I'm not as well spoken and calming as Seth, but I'm not a bad guy and I try to stay in my lane as much as possible.
