I used to buy my dog the biggest bone I could find to chew on. Usually a shin bone off a cow. It would keep him busy for well over a week and give him a treat at the same time. Even when he had eaten any the marrow and gristle remaining on it, he would treat the thing as his 'precious'. He usually kept it until i got the shits with him continually dropping it on the timer deck or stairs at 2 or 3 in the morning, the banging sound preventing me from sleeping. Then it went in the bin and a week or two later, when I had caught up on my missed sleep, he'd get a new one.
