The government screwed up and is waging a massive propaganda campaign against Djokovic.

The Australian Government and the Australian Border Farce are incompetent.
Errors on immigration forms are very rarely the cause of rejection of entry or deportation because they are mostly trivial if it doesn't involve terrorism or other crimes.
This is the reason ScoMo hasn't acted on the issue of 'lying', because it would come back and bite him if it turns out Djokovic was deported for lying while others were not. It would provide evidence that the whole persecution of Djokovic was political.
Djokovic has entered Australia 15+ times and may have lied every single time. If that is so, Djokovic may be entitled to believe the Australian Border Farce expects him to lie and is offended if he doesn't.

If lying was a reasonable cause for expelling people from Australia, there would be no politicians in Australia.
I expect that Djokovic's legal team will ask the Australian Border Farce to advise how many people have been expelled and not expelled for lying on their immigration forms.
It is only around 200 years since lying, theft, and murder were valuable credentials for entry to Australia.
