Covid-19 Revisit

Yes .. here we are again. :roll
:groan

The Feds are still doing NOTHING, as usual.

This is a Groundhog YEAR.

I think we are in for big trouble, because for some reason the Feds are hiding away. They seem INCAPABLE of acknowledging TRUTH, because all their PROFESSIONAL TIME is spent LYING.

I actually DON'T KNOW what. if anything, the Feds are doing, other than to siphon money off to their mates....

Disgusts me, when MORE than a year on... virtually NO aged care workers or aged care patients have been vaccinated. Relatively it's microscopic....

Oh but the feds have had theirs... and where are those billions of dollars in aged care going..? to fund a super yacht perhaps.?

I can't tell how many words I could use to describe this government, and it's failure, AND it's DENIAL.

ALL CROOKS that get off do so by denying......

The virus is with us... now.
I shake my head every time I hear some talking 'head' say 'post-Covid'....as if it's now. I suspect they'll shut up soon.

It ain't over......

Personally I think the Morrison government has failed big time. It is almost like they aren't acting, because the PM Mr Scott Morrison, thinks it's GOD'S WILL, and let GOD sort it out

ie.. do nothing because it is all God's Will. The cunt is a real looney...

Look at his attitudes and responses to crises and CRITICS. Dismissal.. denial..
... FUCKWIT religious arsehole who is LOVING the POWER he has.

Sickens me ... they get a sinecure .. life of lux... regardless of what they did to the Country.

Oh dearie me...

What exactly do you think any government CAN do against a virus, Pink? What would YOU suggest that they do, against a virus that is not even alive?

Once all the lies have failed, what's left? The truth? That ain't ever gonna happen!! That's why it's called "politics". The art of making nothing sound like something. And, something sound like nothing

Not earning their pay...

failures like NBN get millionaire dollar bonuses for their failure... the Aust Post CEO gets slagged off by the PM in Parliament... for comparatively minor remuneration.... for very good performance, and the PM effectively tells her to FUCK OFF.

Never says a word about all the mates .... sickening.

they probably think its a good way to solve the problem of an ageing population ...
Our elderly are not the responsibility of the state. They take care of themselves or their families step in. We were about to put my mother in law into a nursing home before covid started. She will be 90 in August and has congestive heart disease and dementia. We kept her at home between my house and my SIL 's house. My parents have self isolated and we avoided them for months to protect them. Only after my family recovered from covid did we dare to be around my parents. I would visit with them in their yard and sit downwind. They are vaccinated now and are all doing ok. I see my parents about twice per week now. Maybe I was more careful than most people, but I definitely don't rely on the state to protect my parents and never have. I don't trust Trump or Biden with that responsibility.

Good on you Tex ... but not everyone is in a position to help their parents nor does everyone want to ... and there are many elderly that have no one to take care of them, either because they never had children or their child has either died or has moved to another country. These are the most vulnerable and it's up to govco to step in. Once upon a time it was the whole tribes responsibility to provide care for the young and the elderly. In this day and age with the populations we have, that responsibility falls upon govco.

That's fine that government has programs to care for the poor elderly, but you can't take away everyone else's freedom to protect these people from a virus. Quarantine them in nursing homes and screen their care staff heavily. That's about all you can do until vaccinations become available.

that about sums it up.
the attitude, I mean.

Old people die anyway, and there is a continuous supply of new ones, so all the owners and operators of old folks homes are in the gravy.

OUR federal government is well-aware of that, and have been consistently funding big corps.. who happen to pay millions to their chiefs every year, regardless of their gross failures.

Are you NOW still praising scumbag for a good job.? I wonder who pulls his strings..? being a puppet as he is.

Might it be PD.???????????
Wonder what PD has on SCOMO.?

A very very sad state of affairs.

We will all get old if we're lucky and we all will die. Take care of your loved ones and treat all elderly with respect. They've earned it, but you can't let them take your way of life after they have already enjoyed theirs. The state will support them as the law allows. If you don't think that's enough, then volunteer and support them financially yourself. Since my father in law went into a nursing home (and passed away 2 years ago), I collect sample shampoos, lotions, conditioners, and hair nets from my frequent hotel stays. Many nursing home residents don't have toiletries because they have no family to support them. The nursing staff love to get hold of those samples. They love donations of your old clothes as well. A small radio is also very welcome.

why does your right to freedom trump their right to life?
Quarantine the elderly and screen their care staff. Why should I be forced to give up my job. Why should my kids be denied school? Why should I be forced to take an experimental vaccine for a disease that is not a threat to a young, healthy person? I'm not giving up my life because because you think a disease might get into your country and affect somebody else. I've been responsible and not given this disease to anyone. I carry the antibodies and am not a danger to anyone. I just want to live my life.

I get tested for antibodies every 7 weeks when I donate blood. Still positive.

How many elderly are neglected because their children aren't allowed to travel to meet their needs? Why does the government have the right to choose which elderly are harmed when many have family eager to help them.

you said to quarantine them ... what about their rights to go where they want and do as they wish when it suits them.
I'm talking about the people who cannot take care of themselves and depend on the state for protection from disease.

My parents are self sufficient and make their own decisions. They isolate themselves and I support their decisions and we visit them at their discretion. Even with the jab, they rarely go out these days. My parents trust my judgment and my brother's and we have been very careful to protect them. If my parents wanted to take chances that is up to them.

My mother in law stays with my SIL. She is almost 90 with congestive heart failure and dementia. We were about to put her in a nursing home until covid happened. Now we use her retirement income to pay for home care. She rarely leaves the house. She asks us the same questions several times per day but seems happy. With my divorce going on, she hasn't even thought to ask why my wife is living with her now. We're afraid to tell for fear she will have a heart attack.
