Can America escape the urge for a military victory after the political-diplomatic loss of being chased out of Afghanistan by an armed rabble?

This exemplifies the hollowness of pursuing military strategies without political and diplomatic strategies and willing allies.

None of the USA's "alliance of the willing" have really been a willing participant of the USA's adventures since Iraq and probably before. They just feared being isolated and scapegoated by the USA for not following blindly as France was scapegoated for its refusal to invade Iraq.

Nearly 80 years after WW2 the USA has not won an armed conflict permanently. It has had temporary victories and lulls until Afghanistan where a total panicked withdrawal is likely.

Since WW2, the USA's military victories have been fleeting and inconclusive. The USA's political victories have been zero.

Even in Iraq, the USA is facing pressure to leave.

The USA is embarrassed militarily and diplomatically as rooftop evacuations of embassies in Kabul are planned.

Will the Pentagon now seek to subdue some country by massive military action to avenge it's humiliation in Afghanistan?

The Taliban are not rabble. Might look like it but tough fighters, veterans.

3. A group of persons regarded with contempt:

They are a rabble. Rabbles follow rabble-rousing leaders like USA's Taliban Donald Trump because they are individually incapable of rational thought.

The Demagog Donald Trump is resting since his appointment with destiny in August 2021 was as bogus as he is.

Donald will tell his proletariat when it is time for war after he kicks the anus of his midget opponents in the GOP and roused the jingo-swallowing rabble.
