No sweet lips, because our American Founding Fathers had the genius to affirm & protect our American Rights so that no future government could ever take them away from the American People without the People's own consent.
That's a 'Fact of Life'.......A 'Fact of Life' you all need to live with, because the American People ain't about to give you the satisfaction in you lifetime!!
Repealing any of the listed American Rights has yet to be tested, but if Americans wanted to relinquish their Rights to Keep & Bear Arms, if it is at all possible, they would have to first remove the Right, repeal the Second Amendment, & then replace it with a modified version much more to their liking through amending the Constitution via the process outlined in the Constitution itself.
Only the American People can accomplish this task via that process. The Federal government does not have the Constitutional power to do so. They are limited to only the powers given to them by the People in the Constitution, & amending the Constitution isn't there, ergo the Tenth Amendment.
Process to Amend the US Constitution:
Someone, a Congressman, a Senator, any citizen, proposes an amendment to the US Constitution. Individually, each House of Congress (The US House of Representatives & the US Senate) must agree to debate, & then vote on the Amendment. Each House must pass the Amendment by a two-thirds (2/3) Super-Majority vote. (435 US Representatives of the US House times 2/3 equals 290 Representatives) & (100 US Senators times 2/3 equals 67 Senators). If Successful in the US Congress then the proposed Amendment gets sent to the 50 individual States, where it requires 3/4 of all the States (50 times 3/4 equals 38 States) to Ratify the new Amendment. At the State level it is either done within the individual State's Legislatures, or if mandated by the individual State's Constitution, it must be sent to the Citizens of that State to vote on the proposed Amendment. Usually the entire States ratification process is limited Seven (7) years.
There are 27 Amendments to the Constitution.
Approximately 11,770 measures have been proposed to amend the US Constitution from 1789 through January 3, 2019.....over the span of 230 years.
Since 1789, Congress has sent only 33 proposed Constitutional amendments to the States for ratification. Of these, only 27 have been ratified. That would have to mean well over 11,000 proposed Amendments to the US Constitution could not be agreed to by a Super-Majority of Congress.
The first 10 Amendments ratified by the States, to become part of their US Constitution (the Peoples Document), were/are called "The Bill of Rights" the Rights of the American People.
So, in over 230 years, only 27 Amendments (17 if you don't include the American People's Bill of Rights) made it through the entire process successfully.
And BTW only one (1) Constitutional Amendment has ever been enacted to repeal another, & never has a repeal of a Right of the People ever been even suggested for ratification by the American People.
The 21st Amendment, ratified in 1933, repealed the 18th Amendment, ratified in 1919, which had instituted Prohibition.

In order to know what the Forefathers intended you need to read the recorded documents of the day, not just a convenient Modern Day Progressive Serving Interpretation. When the Supreme Court made it's 2008 decision, they relied on exhaustive investigations of the actual documents of the National Archives.......the Library of Congress.......written when the Second Amendment, & the Bill of Rights, were debated back in the late 1700's, to support the decisions they made.
Now John, regardless of what your hurt lil Progressive tail may be tellin ya, the findings & decisions of the Supreme Court, like it or not, is the Law in America.....period.....there's no appeal.....& only 2 remedies exist if the American People wish change.....the one I posted above, or a new subsequent Court's ruling to the contrary.....period.
Consider yourself educated about our American Law of the Land.
If you wish to discuss this further, rather than hijacking this thread about Abortion Law, I'll start a new thread....a new one regarding the subject of the American Revolution, the American Constitution, & the American Right to Keep & Bear Arms.....the Second Amendment of the US Constitution....America's Law of the Land.....which affirms, defends, & protects an American's Individual Right to Keep & Bear Arms, to be used for specific lawful purposes like self-defense, among others.

Gun control and abortion are often topics that evoke strong emotions from people. Nevertheless, reasonable people may disagree for articulable reasons. We should consider and discuss those reasons on their merits and do it in some semblance of good taste and respect for one another.

I had a text that expressed my immediate feelings on the subject, but as you said, ".....Gun control and abortion are often topics that evoke strong emotions....", & rather than post that now deleted response, my response will be simply that I feel sorry for those that felt offended by the posts & my part in them, & I also agree that "We should consider and discuss those reasons on their merits.........", & not resort to false comparisons that may invoke similar repeat postings.
