Sorry for my ignorance. If abortion is murder, then when pregnant women die or get into accidents, do those that cause them, e.g. driving accidents, do people get charged with murder/manslaughter or some variant for the dead baby?

I believe is has happened but i'd have to go googling to know for sure and i'm not up for it now but will get to it. Watch this space.

What i can tell you though is that a pregnant woman was charged with murder because she was stabbed in the abdomen while she was pregnant and the baby died. It was alleged she started the fight. Forget which whackadoodle state in the US decided on that one but she was, of course, a woman of colour.

I remember that case, it was 2 or 3 years ago IIRC. Fucking idiocy there! That is why I said in this thread that a Texan woman who suffers a miscarriage will likely be tried for murder. They are that stupid in way too may US states!

Just read the equivalent thread to this in OzPol. Seems California is using a version of it to ban assault rifles or guns generally.

Fucking hell, bounty hunters to ensure a few poor colored women have to bring an unwanted child into the world??? Despite there being over 500,000 unwanted children already?

Foster Care/Adoption: Those 500,000 have a chance at life......
An opportunity for a good Life.......

Abortion: Outside of a Horrible Death, what would've abortion offered?

About how many people are killed in America each year by firearms of any kind, either by another, or by their own hand? 10,000......20,000......30,000.....40,000?

About how many lives are potentially saved by Defensive firearms use each year? 100,000......200,000+?

About how many Unborn are killed every year in America? 500,000+ ....... 650,000+ ....... 800,000+?

The poor and/or colored woman would be saved one more pregnancy. That may mean she could continue working. But some men don’t like the thought of women making up their own mind it seems. How dare they decide on their sexual health, the hussies! FMD!

DRX i don't believe abortion is a horrible death.

Until they achieve a very high rate of success (say, in health, wealth, education) for adoptions/fostering, then having babies growing up deliberately in a poor environment would be an unacceptable abuse.

Trigger Law

A trigger law is a nickname for a law that is unenforceable, but may achieve enforceability if a key change in circumstances occurs.

Abortion trigger laws in the United States

States with trigger laws or pre-Roe bans on abortion that would make abortion illegal in the state if Roe v. Wade were overturned

In the United States, twelve states — Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma,[1] South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas,[2] and Utah have trigger laws that would automatically ban abortion in the first and second trimesters if the landmark case Roe v. Wade were overturned.[3][4][5] Illinois formerly had a trigger law (enacted in 1975), but repealed it in 2017.[6][7][8] Also, nine states — Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, West Virginia, and Wisconsin as well as the already mentioned Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas, still have their unenforced pre-Roe abortion bans on the law books. Those laws are not currently enforceable due to Roe, but could be enforced if Roe were overturned.[4]

Victory for Children: Texas Abortion Law Saving Thousands

Texas has sent a strong signal to the courts that
many Americans intend to protect our children from abortion violence.

Source: USA TODAY
Roe v. Wade was born in Texas, and the state’s new Heartbeat Law could effectively mean the Lone Star State is where Roe dies.

The first-of-its-kind law is designed to be enforced by private citizens instead of the state, leaving the abortion industry in a conundrum: There’s no one easily identified to sue to block the law.

Out of more than a dozen states that have passed a “heartbeat law,” Texas is the only one where the law is now in effect. More than 53,000 abortions were reported in the state last year, and it’s estimated that the law will curtail that figure by at least 85%.

Needless to say, pro-life advocates are celebrating the decimating effect this will have on the abortion industry as well as the thousands of children it will save.
As of January 13th. it's estimated that more than 12,000 innocent lives have been spared by Texas' Heartbeat Act.

God Bless Texas!!!

Children are not aborted, some are killed by gun violence but that is OK it seems.

@Monk

No Monk, the murder of the innocent, no matter the tool used, is never "ok".

In all of America's 330,000,000+ people, every year there are about 40,000 people (of all ages) that are killed by the criminal use of firearms (which includes suicide, where the firearm user gets exactly what they wanted, their own death....about 60% of the 40,000). Of all these criminal homicides, the 40,000± murders/homicides, about 1,700± of them are children (aged under 17yo), which also includes about 700 suicides.

No Monk, 1,700 murdered children........that's never OK Monk.......

Source: https://www.bradyunited.org/key-statistics

Per the CDC statistical report in 2019 (last number published, & lowest number in the last 10 years) 625,000+ pre-born human beings were reported aborted in the USA.

625,000+ murdered/terminated/killed/slaughtered pre-born humans.....is that ok Monk....are you simply ok with that?

I know, I know, the pro-abortion lot will say they don't count....just tissue....but if those 625,000 humans were permitted to be born, well over 500,000+ of them, half a million babies would most probably be alive today .........just learning how to walk, run, & play........... yes, alive today, facing an unknown life before them.......maybe not the best life, maybe not the worst life, but living just like you & I did, all those years ago when we were 2 years old.......our futures weren't cast in granite by any means, but at least we had the chance of a life.........to eventually make something of ourselves.

Abortion is removal of a fetus, not of a baby or child. Say 2000 less abortions are done in Texas. in 15 years time problems of truancy, petty crime, rape etc start to take off. Some of the kids in this generation get shot by cops—they are mostly colored, remember? The mothers forced to carry a pregnancy to birth are probably not able to work anymore or have to quit school/college etc. Welfare cost soars.

I remind you there are already 500K children that have to be fostered, now you are boosting this by thousands a year!

It is EVIL to prevent women from making their own decisions about their body. Nothing wrong with aborting a non-viable fetus. Try thinking for a change.

Geeez Monk, I never would have guessed/thought you, of all people, you were such a complete pessimist. It's a wonder you allow yourself to wake up every morning with your outlook on "LIFE".....

Seriously, all those un-aborted human beings, most all of them turn out to be the very worst in society, virtually all of them become welfare criminals, & just because most of them might just be black & allowed to live/be born......shit man, you are one hell of a fuckin' dark-side thinker Monk!?

If that's all true Monk, that guy you look at in the mirror each day shure as hell ain't yer friend........turn & Run Monk.....Run for your life!!!

Say it aint so Monk......Please, say it just aint so!!

but it's OK enough for you to not want to get rid of the weapons that kill them
In America it is a fact of life........

That possibility, to get rid of the firearms Americans use for lawful purposes like self-defense, never existed in America, & never will.

Americans are ingrained with a gun culture that can never be purged.......American Citizens have no desire whatsoever to become anywhere close or near to gun-less.

Americans are acutely aware of the tragic loss guns can cause, but they always have, & always will believe, that that cost is the unfair price of freedom....& like it or not, it must be paid.....

Better than 90% of all $400 million+ firearms in America are, by law, are not registered in any National Data Base......never registered, & with no record of sale to trace back.

So, if the government does not have a clue where these 400 million firearms are located, or who owns them, how do you suggest they find them.......go door to door.....that could get very, very bloody......Americans aren't like Australians......Ask them to register them...
...again, they are Americans, not sheeple like Australians that bend to the demands of government.....especially when it comes to firearms.

The last example was the Blue/democrat State of NY, with very strict gun laws in NY City. Recently less than 15% registration compliance after 3 years of threatening the people in NY when a new law said they must do so.....Over 85% of NY Gun Owners refuse to comply to this day.....

JFYI....most police officers in NY State are gun owners themselves, & they are also elected Sheriffs, & Sheriff's Deputies. They don't work for the government, they work for those that elected them.....the People, & they are on record, swore an oath to the fact, that they will refuse to enforce any laws that they deem unconstitutional.....infringes on the Peoples Right to Keep & Bear Arms.........furthermore, except for major urban cities, most law enforcement in the USA are elected, not hired by the government, & they share that allegiance to the People over the government.......So, laws that are unenforceable, that are unenforced, are effectively nullified.

John, face it, confiscation, gun buybacks, & any other Aussie methods of gun legislation, etc, etc... don't have any chance in hell of working on getting 400,000,000+ firearms out of American hands, & into the smashing pits......as easily as John Howard got so many government worshiping Australians to bend to.....

Better than 98% of all law abiding American gun owners, have never used their firearms illegally, & probably never will.

Better than 99% of all gun crime is committed by criminals, who will never obey any gun laws, no matter how civilized you deem your common sense laws to be.

GUN CONTROL: The theory that people who are willing to ignore laws against rape, assault, theft, & murder will obey laws that prohibit them from owning firearms.
So, now, after this diversion, you must realize your dreams of a gun-less America will never, ever exist, so, lets get back on to the topic of this thread..........ABORTION, the legalized murder....pardon me if you are sensitive to reality.....the legalized murder slaughter of the unborn.

In 2019, there were 39,707 firearms deaths in the US. Over 60% of all those deaths were for gun suicides(23,941). Including 3% as accidental gun suicides(1,191). It seems to me that guns are more a danger to their owners, than for self-defense.

But since 8.159 people die each day in the US, I guess no one cares about the 66 gun suicides each day, right?
