Biden Approval Rating Drops to New Low

(NEXSTAR) – Americans’ approval of President Joe Biden’s job performance dropped to a new low in a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday, October 6.

Just 38% of Americans polled gave Biden a thumbs up, down from 42% three weeks ago. 53% of people polled gave him a negative review.

When broken down topic-by-topic, Biden doesn’t fare much better. Only 25% approved of his handling of immigration, 39% approved of his handling of the economy and 37% approved of his job as Commander in Chief.

His best score reported by Quinnipiac was on handling the coronavirus pandemic: 48% approval compared to 50% disapproval.

“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” Quinnipiac polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a press release.

How people view the president’s performance has a clear split on party lines: 94% of Republicans surveyed said they disapproved, while 80% of Democrats said they approved.

President Biden’s ratings have fallen downward over the past several months as the delta variant ravaged the country, prompting some places to reinstate mask mandates and overloaded hospitals to cancel elective surgeries. At the same time, Biden oversaw a messy and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan. To make matters worse, his legislative priorities, like a massive infrastructure package, have stalled in Congress.

“Everybody’s frustrated, it’s part of being in government, being frustrated,” Biden told reporters Saturday. He pledged to ”work like hell” to get the pillars of his domestic agenda passed into law.

See the full breakdown of the polling results on Quinnipiac University Polls.

Sinkin' Joe B.

How low will he goooooooo.............

2022 Polls Looking "Scary" For Democrats

Source: NBC NEWS - Meet the Press
We have a brand new NBC News poll out this morning that's filled with some scary news for the Democrats. The overarching message: Americans have lost their confidence in President Biden and their optimism for the country......... Just 22% of adults say we're headed in the right direction. A shocking 71% say we're on the wrong track and that includes a near majority of Democrats who are saying that. President Biden's approval rating stands at a dismal 42%, versus 54% who disapprove. Believe it or not, just two months ago, Mr. Biden was in positive territory -- 49% approving and 48% disapproving. So, what's pulling down the president's numbers? Well look at his set of numbers: just 37% say he has the ability right now to handle a crisis, versus nearly a majority who say he does not. Thirty-seven percent also say he's competent and effective as president. Fifty percent disagree with that description. What's more, Republicans, believe it or not, have double-digit leads in dealing with border security, inflation, crime, national security, the economy and -- shockingly -- on getting things done. Democrats hold generally smaller double-digit leads on dealing with climate change, the coronavirus, education and abortion, and that’s really it right now. It's not clear yet whether any deal struck by Democrats on the social spending and infrastructure bills will nudge Mr. Biden's numbers back into positive territory, or whether the damage to his reputation is more of a scar than a bruise.........

President Biden <is> struggling at home, now facing allies in Europe without the political victory he had been hoping for. The 18-point Republican edge on handling of the economy is fueled by economic pessimism -- 79% call the economy fair or poor. Just 41% of Democrats believe the country is headed in the right direction - down 23 points since April. And Republicans are up by 13 points on being effective and getting things done -- a number likely driven by the messy, public debate over Biden's social spending plans, which has exposed ideological divisions in the Democratic Party.

The 2022 Mid-Term Elections looks even better for the Republicans today than it ever has....

Outside of the "Traditionally Obsessed Trump Haters"......anyone else see it differently?

Does anyone else see the democRATS rebounding enough to overcome Slidin' Joe Biden's dismal jaunt into the lowest depths of political mediocrity?

The way I see this election is this....

It had nothing to do with Trump.

It had everything to do with Independents. In 2020, Biden won the state of Virginia by 10 points. IMO, Trump had turned off Independent voters as well as some Republicans over his 4 year term in office. It was not his policies that turned them off. It was his personality. Policies are more impactful than personality, but you can't win if too many people flat don't like you. Glenn Youngkin kept Trump at arm's length during his campaign, stuck to the issues, and he won.

Right there is a lesson for Republicans for 2022. It's theirs to win ... or to lose.

Some time ago, somewhere on this forum, I wrote that I thought Democrats would misinterpret their win in 2020 and overstep, and, in Virginia, that's exactly what they did.

Glenn Youngkin and Winsome Sears flipped the Independents (one third of the electorate) by running a positive, issue-based campaign, and they won.

I'm sure this is going over really well with voters. Prior to the Biden presidency, America was energy independent. Now, the price of gas and home heating fuel is rising fast. For people in the upper classes, this is no big deal really. They have the ability to flex their spending to compensate. Lower middle class people and low income people (the people Biden always says he's fighting for) do not. Jennifer Granholm is Biden's energy secretary. She owns two homes in California, and her net worth is $8 million. When asked what the Granholm plan was to increase domestic production, Biden's energy secretary had a great laugh at the notion and immediately deflected to OPEC, as if inhibiting our own energy production had nothing to do with it. I wonder how funny that was to a lower income family or an elderly pensioner trying to get by.

It's like deja vu. Hillary used to always cackle whenever she was asked an uncomfortable question, like it was a huge joke.

All i see on that story is a whole heap of 'coulda' 'woulda,' 'shoulda' type stuff, which is meaningless. He didn't actually change anything that bought about a lessening off supply?

Guess what Set, everyone is going through higher petrol prices right across the developed world. It's a result of the extra demand now that covid is over, coupled with the restrictions on supply because the transport industry had been crippled by covid.

Here's an eye opener John....it had nothing to do with the Pandemic.......Biden single-handedly, through his Presidential Executive Orders, completely shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline System, & he has also ordered a moratorium on all new domestic drilling leases which has all but halted domestic oil & gas production, while wind & solar have proven themselves disastrously inferior replacements for fossil fuels as sources of 24/7 energy......

Within less than a year these single-handed orders put America, from it's recent Energy Independence, once again into energy receivership.....into energy dependency. https://tinyurl.com/yzoqdc85

America now has to sit & watch all its starved oil refineries come to a virtual stall & standstill, because without adequate domestic production, there is nothing but OPEC oil to refine, & because America was supplying its refineries with domestic oil, the majority of OPEC contracts weren't needed......

Now, without refineries working at top efficiency, the flow of petrol & diesel has slowed to a trickle, causing prices to steadily increase for family automotive, transport trucking, & electricity generating facilities all across America, which service America's 360 Million consumers.....effectively affecting each & every American household with higher energy, goods, & production prices......all this at a time when they can least afford it because Covid19 is still nipping at their heals....

Lets Go Brandon...AKA...Fuck Joe Biden!!!

The problem GOP faces is that the next highest GOP POTUS contender after Trump is Ted Cruz who is even despised in the GOP and is overall less popular than a shit-encrusted toilet seat.

The GOP cupboard of POTUS contenders is bare.

For once we agree. Independents will not vote for Trump or Cruz. Neither could win.

I agree with you here. I've said from the beginning Joe Biden is just too old, and will be over 80 if he finishes his term. He was never a policy leader, a progressive, or even a visionary. But he was indeed the perfect "company man", who would protect and serve the interests of the DNC, Corporate America, Wall Street, and the MIC. But having said this, the worst threat to America would be a Kamala Harris administration.

Our best chance to save America ended when the Corporate Media, MIC, Wall Street, and the DNC, joined forces to take out their greatest threat, Tulsi Gabbard. She was the only incorruptible force that truly would have been of service to the people. She was the only true progressive in the field of party lap-dogs, liars and stooges. She was the perfect politician, who would have saved the dignity, respect, and ideals of America. Her policies were simple, rational, and doable. And, her visions were always clear and logical. Her policies appealed to more people across the entire political spectrum, than any other candidate. She truly would have given real meaning to the words, "A government of the people, by the people, and for the people".

I think that we've become so use to the same 4 year bullshit promises from the paid actors in both parties, that we are unable to see the truth even if we tripped over it. We've become so cynical, suspicious, and party obsessed, that when we see the truth standing in front of us, we start rationalizing that it must also be bullshit. In the meantime, another 4 years will go by and nothing significant will happen. The same unsanctioned wars will continue as the new policy. More and more people will continue to become indebted, homeless, jobless, poor, and hungry. Infrastructures will continue to be neglected. The gap between rich and poor will continue to grow. And like children waiting for Christmas, we will continue to wait for our next 4 year fix of more bullshit promises of hope to keep us pacified. Do we really want change to happen??

You are correct. This virus could never do the inhumane things that the government is doing in the name of stopping this virus(which is impossible anyway). This virus didn't destroy our economy. Or, close down our borders, businesses, jobs, and industries. This virus isn't trying to justify making it mandatory to force even a 5 year old to put a potential poison into his/her arm. Next, we will be physically forcing every human being to be vaccinated with this potential poison against their will. This virus is not forcing Australians to discriminate against unvaccinated people. This is the pattern of how absurdity always builds onto itself, to become even more absurd. Especially, when there is no pushback from a mostly ignorant population.

Here is another blatant half-truth posted by the media. It's about a 15 yo who was admitted to hospital with pneumococcal meningitis. Who also tested positive for Covid-19. He later died from his original illness, but the media's headline was,

"Boy, 15, becomes youngest Australian to die with Covid-19"

There is no list that distinguishes between dying WITH Covid-19 or dying FROM Covid-19. This means that if someone dies because he is missing his head, he will still be added to the Covid-19 death toll if he is also infected. This purposely inflates the numbers on this list, and gives a false perception that everyone of this list has died because of Covid-19. We have no idea how many people have actually died directly from this virus. In fact no one dies directly from this virus. They die from their immune response to this virus. Or, from some other chronic/acute illness. Why can't people see how they are being manipulated?? Or at least take the time to find out the truth.

I've just looked. He didn't shut down the pipeline. He shut down 'phase 4' of the pipeline, Hardesty to Seattle. Phase 1 already carries oil from Hardesty to Seattle, albeit by a longer route. The oil is still getting through.

he has also ordered a moratorium on all new domestic drilling leases which has all but halted domestic oil & gas production
any new oil wells take months to go from preliminary drilling to full production. I doubt his decision has any real bearing on current shortages. I doubt you've begun to see the effects of that decision yet

so despite all your blah blah, it looks like it actually has little to do with anything Biden has done, and it IS in fact mostly the result of covid, the same as in every other developed country.

For once we agree. Independents will not vote for Trump or Cruz. Neither could win.
The rest of the possible GOP contenders are a bunch of bedwetters like little Marco, Rand Paul the invisible man, and fat Chris Christie a bridge too far.

Trump has knifed Pence which makes him toxic.

Sex crime witness Jim Jordan probably fancies his chances but the association with sex crimes will cull him out.

There's just nobody. Trump will poison Cheney and Murkowski. The black men in the GOP are a bunch of Uncle Toms and won't get past the GOP contender contest if they even make it into the contest.

There isn't an honest, credible, decent contender in the GOP. Apart from their own weaknesses and sins, only the contenders who have taken a knee to Trump will be allowed to contend.

Nikki Haley is a political slut who was against Trump and then fell to her knees and later became a follower of the political wind after being associated with the coverup of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi by her knowledge and association with the murder and his enablers, Kushner and the Trumps.

@Shellandshilo1956

We agree about Tulsi Gabbard. I voted for her in the Oregon Democratic primary election. By that date Biden had the nomination wrapped up, but I still consider it to be one of the best votes I’ve ever given, maybe the best.
Nikki is certainly no Tulsi. She is unfortunately just another Trumpanzee. Just someone who will say and do anything, to be everything and anything to everyone. She sorely lacks integrity, honesty, and an accurate sense of social awareness(no racism in America). I think that she is just the Republican's version of Kamala. Either would be very bad for the country. IMHO
