The A$ is wallowing downward

Postby Squire » 02 Sep 2018, 12:26

Its heading for sub US$ 0.70.

All of the increases for non-productive sectors of the economy are having adverse effects on Australia's competitiveness.

Australia is already a high-cost country and is heading even higher. Social welfare payments in Australia are nearly as high as average wages in UK and Europe.

The problem is that the high welfare payments don't meet the expectations of the poor and they will forever demand more in a price-push spiral.

Whys shouldn't the poor have the same opportunities and be treated equally as the elite scum, destroying the future.

It's heading down again looking like sub US$ 0.70 heading down t0 $0.65 or less.

Could this trigger a recession in Australia?

This is what happens when Trump messes with the 'free-market' by imposing tariffs. No political party will do anything in Oz, so best to just suck it up princess or get drunk :beer

I got the “get drunk” bit covered: went to Langhorne Creek and bought six bottles of delicious wine! (White and rosé for summer drinking.)

Don't look down.

You can see the third world from the top of the Australian dollar.

Australia has become a high-cost country and the A$ is adjusting to compensate.

DYLLYGAF? I can't see you from the top of the Australian dollar. Are you under the third world and not visible to me? Or, are you under someone else?

... and falling.

You are quoting the retail bank rate for selling A$. Buying and selling rates are different, and retail rates have a higher bank profit margin than interbank rates.

YIDGAF, Yes I do GAF. I made money by moving cash resources into another currency in 2004. I am up significantly against the A$.
