Out driving most of the day. Been thinking about a pergola and gazebo running 1m in from my southern boundary, curving to pass in front of the shed to hide it a bit. Wisteria, jasmine, roses, a climbing grapevine etc can grow up the back then across the top of the pergola. Have to be careful not to shade the trees in row 6, frontmost row, from useful afternoon sunlight.
In the front of the pergola, put a handrail in place, under it step over apple trees, that don’t reach the handrail. Hopefully be all dense foliage, blossom, fruit, loud with busy bees.
All has to go on stumps seated on the bedrock—make sure the house design includes pergola/gazebo so all holes and all stumps can be drilled/placed in one day, costs a fortune to move machines, materials and staff from the big town nearly 100Km away, found that out very early! Stumps for greenhouse and adjacent chicken coop to be placed at the same time too tho a distance from the house. Same for the pond: want a decent one so will need a swimming pool grade fence, hide it behind roses etc. Have a hill, walk around, there a nice foliage plant, bit further, a nice bit ($600-900) bit of marble statuary bit further I want a furtive garden gnome smoking a pipe keeping a wary eye out for wify then you come on the pond with maybe a little waterfall cascading down the hill etc.
Might get a muscovy duck or two: are silent, lay lots of eggs, go broody: steal the eggs, put false eggs in their place. Duck eggs, YUM!
