First person is Easy

https://cleantechnica.com/2020/01/19/th ... urprising/

The White House recently killed green energy tax credits, which really isn’t surprising in light of its track record on clean energy.
At the end of 2019, the White House decided to cut tax credits for solar energy and electric vehicles out of a $1.37 trillion spending deal. Advocates believed they won legislative backing for clean energy tax benefits, but it turned out that didn’t matter since the White House rejected those incentives, crushing extensions of the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and the federal EV income tax credit. Reportedly, dropping these highly popular cleantech tax incentives was a critical requirement of the White House in order to sign the $1.37 trillion budget.

When we look at their, track record we can see that this administration chose to leave the Paris climate agreement, chose to undo several initiatives that posed stricter regulations on dangerous chemicals and toxins, and even changed school menus to allow more junk food and fewer vegetables — undoing a popular initiative set up by First Lady, Michelle Obama.
The USDA said that this would allow schools more flexibility, “because they know their children best.” That’s great that they know their children, but children still need to eat healthful foods.

Perhaps it’s just a petty mix of politics crossed with childishness, and this administration’s obsession with undoing what the previous one had done. Even so, the ones who will suffer the worst form this are everyone.
I say everyone in part because America is still seen as a global leader. People follow leaders. And if America is undoing all the good it’s tried to do because one administration wants to one-up the other, then other nations may follow suit. And this damages the environment more so than the administration already has — and our health along the way.

Every time Trump and his government have had a chance to make their land better and look after the health of their people they have chosen Big business instead... :purple

Yes, Trumpy is obsessed with one-upping Obama. Is probably jealous a raid sanctioned by Obama killed Osama bin Laden. I don’t think it is difficult for some big business Repug to get in Trumpy’s ear and have life made easier for said big business. Undoing Green initiatives aka “removing troublesome regulations” is welcome to Repugs anyway.

You would think Repugs would welcome green initiatives like renewable energy as making the US more energy independent. Guess a quick buck is more important.

Under Bush the Idiot environmental regulations were loosened and damage to land and water was done by those looking for oil—smaller companies, not the Shell and BPs of the world. Chemicals were handled carelessly and did a lot of damage to the land.

I am convinced Trumpy wants war with Iran. That won’t be easy: Iran is a big country, 90m population IIRC and bristling with weapons. Outright war too costly—costly to Trumpy’s re-election prospects. I bet there will be a limited war all the same, the Straits of Hormuz perhaps or a proxy war tho where I don’t know.

There was no reason to accuse the Iranians of processing uranium—which they are doing now—or any of the other things Trumpy did. The Iranian population was getting weary of the religious-military government. Trumpy has undone that: reluctantly perhaps but nevertheless support for the Iranian government is growing.

War does immense ecological harm, especially chemical-biological and nuclear war. Yes, nuclear.

This is what the idiot is thinking about when not golfing several days a week and watching hours of TV and tweeting rubbish. The Repugs really need to get rid of Trumpy.

Look around you, if you live in a city, then you're the problem. Urbanites are extremely destructive, polluting and wastes of space, when it come to a viable future. They contribute nothing to the survivable future and are the creators of the end of society as we know it, they waste water, create unbelievable amounts of waste and pollution because of the insanity of their useless consumerism and throw away society they constantly grovel in.

Use less concrete driveways or any thing that replaces vegetation as a replacement option.

All this crap heats up the area where they are used, so use vegetation instead.

Don’t speed up drainage to the rivers instead use a substitute to replace grass that slowed down water reaching rivers.

In July 2019, Agence France-Presse reported that OPEC's secretary-general Mohammed Barkindo "complained of what he called 'unscientific' attacks on the oil industry by climate change campaigners, calling them 'perhaps the greatest threat to our industry going forward'", in apparent reference to the recent school strikes inspired by Thunberg's 'Fridays for Future' movement. Thunberg and other climate activists responded by calling his remarks a badge of honour.

There is but one answer, reduce human population by 95-99%, nothing else will or can work. Even if everyone stopped wasting, gave up consumerism and started walking, this planet is not capable of supporting the number of humans on the planet and scientists say we need at least 1 extra earths to feed the current population. But humans are still producing, still wasting and consuming at rapidly growing rates, which leaves the one solution that will work. The removal of ideological humanity and that's underway now and will be completed by 2031, when nature will have won and ideological humanity, their destructive lifestyles and cities will be gone.

Well if scientists say we need one more earth to feed us wouldn't it be a 50% reduction...

Why don't you give it away, you lack any form of logic or understanding of how the food chain works and seem incredibly stupid. So will explain it to you in terms a 3 year old could understand, but probably way beyond you still.

The earth is like a big storehouse, it had abundance of food of many varieties spread around the globe. But like all big storage systems, they have a limit to the amount they can store, provide and replenish, which is not infinite, but finite. Two hundred years ago, the planet easily catered for and supported a few million humans and billions of varying animal species, so life and food were abundant.

During the last 200 years, the human population has gone from a few of million, to 8+ billion, yet the ability of the earths food producing and storage facilities have been quickly diminished, by human greed, gluttony and unfettered slaughter of animal and plant life for fun, sport and just outright abuse.

Now the ability of the planet to provide food for even just a few million, is severely depleted, the seas have been almost fished out, the land is denuded and fast becoming unable to provide crops without huge amounts of ecologically destructive chemicals and the food chain has been decimated by humanity.

Now the planet has passed the time when it can provide food and still be able to replenish its stocks, simply because humans have destroyed natures ability to restock. Humans have wiped out millions of species, many essential to the food and ecology chains, when the food and ecological chains break, that's it for much of life.

Then there's the dramatic lose of pollinating bees and insects, many bird and fish species are now either gone or extremely rare and that means pollination is going backwards. The sea life that still survives the constant dredging of the seas, have big gaps in their food chains and are dying out. When you add the drying of world river systems, collapse of glaciers which provide water for humans to exist and heavy contamination of that water, so water life can't survive and keep waters clean,

The planet is now incapable of supporting 8 billion people by a very long way and that's why scientists say, we need at least one other earth to provide food for survival.

Understanding this is probably way beyond your comprehension ability, stiff, ideological clones are just that, just clones who have no ability to look logically or rationally at the true situation. Empty denial, seems your middle name and you're welcome to it, keep trolling though, it makes for a good laugh.

On SBS tonight, I watched a documentary, Meat: A threat to our planet.
It was a real eye opener.
I cook with very little meat as it is, but now I’m so put off.
It’s astounding how big businesses are ruining the biodiversity of this planet.
There’s a lot of fish taken out of the sea, to make fish paste, to feed the animals, so we can eat the animals.

It’s actually quite sad to see how it effects the insect and animal kingdom.
Some small farmers are doing something to counteract the problem, but the rest need to take note and follow suite.

When will the deforestation stop?
Answer: when we become vegetarian
I see in the future this will be the cause, whether by choice, or because there was no choice but to do so, or by generational changes in attitudes.
The future is vegetarian
We need more Gretas to alert the world.

Actually the problems are many fold, meat and other imported animal products, like diaries, are just as bad as eating animals. In this country, if people want to eat meat they should be eating native meats, not imported animals which are extremely detrimental to the land and it's survival.

When you add this country is massively overpopulated with hundreds of millions of imported animals and destructive ideological humans, what else can you expect from such a fragile sensitive land, but collapse. They clear land to graze sheep and cattle, their hooves break up the land, wipe out biodiversity, create dust storms and remove rain fall. So they spread chemicals in the hope their destructive animals can survive, but the chemicals destroy more biodiversity and water ways.

When suggestions to get rid of these imported destructive pests, all the clones complain and rage they want they steaks and takeaway junk today, more than they want a real future for them and their kids. Which just proves the lack of logic urban and other clones live within, the quicker nature wipes most of us out, the better off the planet.

And what kind of immunity to extinction have non members of ‘ideological humanity’ attained that will save them ?
Hell I get tired of recommending this tome as it’s really too late. However, if anyone wants to examine what it is about our species that induces blind suicidal outcomes a reading of Arthur Koestler’s ’The Ghost in The Machine’ may enlighten to the extent of having them want to leave the planet even sooner.

And where did this figure of 2031 come from? Smells of superstition. Besides, I doubt we have that long.
