Right: in my first post I tried to find the details about the 14, 900km journey by an electric vehicle but have so far failed ... I did, however, find a few links on the same organisations other claims to fame !

They recently did a trial of Bris to Ca.. they might have info on their web site.

This would be more my speed. It will only do 250kph, but is street legal and will do it in comfort with all the conveniences of a car. The training wheels lift up after you get moving and there is an all electric version.
