Nuclear is largely carbon free, waste can be managed. Any generator should be built close to existing infrastructure where it is tectonically quiet and out of reach of tsunamis. Can be done.

Ahh.. but you see.. Nuclear is not going to be a viable option much longer.
Because of rises in temperatures, including sea temperatures, the amount of water required , at the higher temps, would be insufficient to cool the piles. Fukushima was a very real warning against MORE Nuclear power.

most Nuclear power plants cannot operate efficiently .. and climate change will negate the effectiveness of water cooling.. NUCLEAR is NOT an option.

I do. We could close the Tax Office we would make so much money doing that. Bury the waste in the old BH mines.

You have ignored my remarks about temps HBS Guy. Truly..?

it is something you should consider.

It can be managed. Prechill the cooling water.

We should take the worlds waste, store it properly, make so much money need a superduper computer to count it.

Be a whole lot better off environmentally and monetarily if we just legalised Marijuana.

Ban Cotton production, encourage Hemp ban new coal exploration , including Adani, and go for investment full-on in renewables.

OH YEAH ban ALL land clearing for development purposes.

Evaporative cooling will prechill the water. Pump water up from deep down, not surface

We need to decarbonise the economy and nuclear should have a role.

Nuclear is safe. Fukushima was old tech on a faultline right by the sea. We cannot afford to keep burning fossil fuels and that is that.

CSIRO should have been studying fusion for the last couple of decades.

The current tech is much safer.

Yes, we need to decommission old plants (Fukushima should have been decommissioned long ago.) That costs, true. But decarbonising is what is needed. Look at Vic & NSW, load shedding on a stinking hot day.

until our technology gets beyond it's ability to cope, then it just becomes another 'old reactor waiting to fail'.

Old school country values were more along the line of "..leave something for someone else".

But then people came to the city and stopped going to church and overall getting to know their neighbours so they/we all became hard of heart.
