Annual ice loss exemplifies AGW effects

For scientific papers on AGW, record happenings in the Arctic and the Greenland, Himalayan and Antarctic icesheets. Also weatherstorms and higher than average rainfalls and other extreme weather events.

Annual ice loss exemplifies AGW effects

The ice loss process has probably become irreversible unless there is a major geological event that blocks insolation.

It would take decades to recover all the lost ice.

Antarctica is losing 118 billion tonne of ice per year.

Arctic sea ice is diminishing by 13.2% per year

Greenland and Iceland losing 281 billion tonne per year.

Glaciers have lost 400 million tonne per year since 1994.

And Booby thinks we are in an ice age! Ridiculous!

Yeah, the East Antarctic starting to lose ice was a shock, scientists thought East Antarctica was stable. But it will take a major flood on the US East or Gulf coasts before serious action is taken to remove CO2.

We can spray aerosols to reflect more sunlight then plant bamboo on a massive scale, do biochemical engineering etc to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

Pine Island glacier calving and retreating. Note in the video how rapidly the icebergs calved off melt.
