Getting close now - this has been one dragged out campaign, is the public still taking notice?

The Coalition, brought to you by Ray White

The fibs supporters kicking into gear to ensure the maintainence of the obscene house price bubble which is denying future generations the ability to affordably house themselves while lining the pockets of people at the top, to say nothing of creating economic instability. For starters, negative gearing must go as it effectively gives public subsidy to people who own more houses than they can live in while making it ever harder for young people just wanting a roof over head.

The size of this thing cannot be overstated - despite some of the lowest rates in history, large swathes of young people are now effectively locked out of realistic ownership of even a modest free-standing shoebox in the parts of Australia where a very large percentage of the population lives. Endlessly growing enrichment of the already better-off at the expense of our own children has to be about the dumbest example of unbridled greed that currently exists.

Good, we could have had a world-class NBN by now if the stupid fibs hadn't been elected in the first place.

Malcolm Farnsworth @mfarnsworth
Oakes says Labor polling shows it ahead in Paterson (57-43), Robertson (53-47), with Hasluck 50-50 and 9% swing in Pearce, but behind 49-51.

Thanks to the incompetence of the fibs, we now have Australia, the part-time employment nation

The great mining investment boom is over and now that we are in the second phase, it is blindingly obvious that the benefits to Australia from mining itself are not that large. The recent GDP figures showed a great jump - but it was nearly all in mining exports while some of the most important economic/employment indicators such as business investment went backward yet again. It isn't all that complicated - mining profits may be declared here in Australia and thus are ticked off as Australian GDP but they mostly belong to foreingners, since we are so good at whoring ourselves out to whoever has the price. The states and the fed get some royalties and some tax revenue but a great deal of the money belongs to foreign shareholders. It looks good on paper but never actually enters the domestic economy.

Just like pre-civil war Ireland, a lot of money was made by landholders and landlords on rent - but they were mostly English and the money was whisked away to London to be spent over there by the English gentry while Ireland itself languished.

With the only really solid growth fuel now being provided by ever-ballooning private housing debt and apartment construction driven by investment - both of which have already denied large numbers of young people the ability to realistically afford to house themselves, and the gap widens every day - we are sailing into more difficult times. The fibs are not fit to lead us through this.

How's my seat of Flynn looking? Christ I hope it changes hands.

The current member for Flynn - just look at that CANE TOAD Ken O'Dowd. What a waste of oxygen!

You can look all you like Doc, there ain't nuthin in there.

Standing for Labor is Zac Beers.

Image

He is a very young bloke and I'm not certain about his chances but I'm keeping everything crossed that he gives the cane toad a shake.

Bit more on IPSOS:
GhostWhoVotes @GhostWhoVotes
#Ipsos Poll VIC Federal 2 Party Preferred: L/NP 45 (+4) ALP 55 (-4) #ausvotes

9:19 AM - 18 Jun 2016

Wouldn’t worry too much about the ± 4. Small sample (just Vic) so bigger swings.

Good lead by Labor, might pick up one or two more Vic seats then is thought.

Our Hypocrite-in-Chief, Richard Di Natale, Greens Leader since he knifed Christine Milne, had a 5 minute segment on the ABC to outline his platform.

Oh lovely it was, if you like blatant hypocrisy:

1. We must fight AGW. Very honorable and groovy dear sir but please explain;
1.1. Why did the Green Hypocrites block the CPRS?
1.2. Why did the Hypocrites insist the Gillard ETS was fixed price allowing abbott to easily rescind it?
1.3. Why do the Hypocrites not even want to consider nuclear as part of the carbon neutral energy mix? Only it can provide the heavy 24/7/365 power load for industry.

—All you can conclude is that the Hypocrites don’t really give a shit about GHG emissions and AGW.

2. The Hypocrites want better treatment for Asylum Seekers. Laudable goal but;
2.1. Why did the Hypocrites join the other conservative Party, the Libs, in blocking the Malay Solution?
2.2. What can we do to not treat ASs as foul as we do now without getting another flood of boats and the consequent drownings?
2.2.1. I would love to see a REAL AS policy from the Hypocrites! You never get hard numbers and $.

God I despise the power hungry hypocritical idiots misnamed “The Greens!”

I had a 3 day argy bargy on Twitter with a Greens MP. Never got a clue as to a realistic policy with hard numbers and dollars. No plan, just talk and try and suck another vote from Labor.

Wow, Green Left does not think much of the Greens. Have a read:

https://www.greenleft.org.au/node/59303

Basically, as I have been saying for a while, the Greens are neocons, have more in common with Libs than Labor.

On Twitter the hash tag #faketradie is trending.

-wears a silver(?) bracelet on a building site.

-is set up in a lane in the way of all traffic, not behind fence around building site

-is drinking from a ceramic mug, not an enameled tin or a plastic one

-no radio tuned to 2GB

-no tattss

-no calluses on hands

-way too clean for a tradie

Pathetic Liberals!

Amazingly Amazed ‏@scott_thewspot 17h17 hours ago
"The Tradie" was identified as property developer Tony Wazzle who owns 15 investment properties and makes donations via off shore trusts

Ahahahaha

NewsPoll has both Lab and Libs gaining 1 point while remaining deadlocked at 50:50 on TPP.

Using 2013 preference flow while prefs will flow differently this election.

Greens on 10% meaning 7% at the election—they are going backwards I am glad to say: were at 16% (which I never really believed) a few months ago but DiNatale selling out to look like a big Party has offended and disappointed some who preferred to believe in Green ideological purity (which has not existed for years and years.)

Ha! Truffles at a ceremony to grant a land claim.

Sounds awful and is sweating profusely. Really needs a day or two in bed but who could substitute for him? Most Coalition Ministers are being hidden during the campaign.

Barnaby? Kidding!

Morriscum? A happy clapper christian handing land to savages?

abbott? Most suitable, well has made noises and gestures, but he is being hidden especially well during campaign!

JBish? Nah

Brandis? Is AG, but, nah!

Here’s the NSW batch. I imagine that Leigh Sales will physically attack Bill Shorten tomorrow night after seeing these.
Reachtel Poll 22/06/2016
Eden Monaro LNP 45 , ALP 55
Lindsay LNP 46 , ALP 54
Macquarie LNP 46 , ALP 54
Dobell LNP 47 , ALP 53

Looking good! Lindsay was supposed to be still Lib and Labor wasn’t counting on it. Don’t know sample size but looks OK.

Oaky is 50:50 with Pruneface in Cowper.

Have seen mention of really good marginal seat polling in Qld! Yes Lefty, Flynn too!

Tomorrow I do 2–2.5hours handing out HTVs at the prepoll booth in my electorate.
