Heard some PR flak from GimpCo on ABC radio talking about it taking years and years to roll out FTTH and giving fast broadband to all soon was the objective of GimpCo.

If they had kept FTTH rollout ramping up would finish rollout 1 year later than FTTN shit + HFC and much cheaper too! A lot of areas are on slower fixed wireless or satellite—even areas close to CBDs, GimpCo does NOT want to roll out any fibre at all, so much for “technology agnostic!”

Apart from all that, Fraudband will only give ADSL like speeds and struggle to do that, the Telstra copper is stuffed or inadequate (no spare pares) and “technology agnostic” GimpCo is rolling out new copper all over the place and the nodes are way under provisioned with fibre. Add Netflix and you have a recipe for failure.
