caught an interesting snippet of 'go 'back to where they came from live' on ABC during my travels, didn't watch it all but while waiting for wifey dearest to finish dressing for an evening of wining and dining, I happened to catch a bit where they spoke to a former Nauru refugee who has since settled in Canada. Despite being settled in Canada for a while now, he still struggles mentally with the effects of being locked on Nauru for so long. He claimed he went from being a political prisoner in Sri Lanka, to being a political prisoner on Nauru. He still sometimes wishes he was dead.
they even managed to phone a current Nauru asylum seeker and they weren't fairing any better.

They need more medical care, not less.

If you, your wife and kiddies were being persecuted, planes bombed your area daily, hunger your constant companion—would YOU not move, Sprint? Rather forgetting the lesson of the Good Samaritan maybe?

more illegals here now than ever

65 000 this year alone

torturing asylum seekers has done absolutely nothing to dissuade illegals

but we both know you really don't give a shit about illegals, it's tinted folk you have a problem with

They know; they just don't care.

A lot of people would take issue with the fact that people who don't pay taxes are receiving fully subsidised healthcare from the government when the average Australian doesn't even get that. Most people have to pay hundreds of dollars per year to see a clinical psychologist and that's even after the mental health plan that grants them 12 sessions per year.

And if you want to see a psychiatrist, good luck affording one.

I don't agree. I think they do care. If the general public didn't care the govt. wouldn't go to so much trouble to hide whats it's doing.

the second point is bullshit. The public does care, just as it cares for it's unemployed or it's sick or anyone else in society that requires a little assisitance. Only a few die hard conservatives begrudge them any help they may receive from the govt. The same applies to asylum seekers.
