Newspeak and/or opinions on Jordan Peterson

The article has some good points: so why would he reject the label?

<...do I hear a plot beginning to thicken?>

I think that was the basic point he was neatly, ...however awkwardly, trying to step toe around.

i.e. He was making the point about 'fake' conservatives being a reality.

I'm familiar with some of his work ... he sounds like he knows his stuff so a lot of the conservanuts are impressed by him, but he's bluffing, i certainly wasn't impressed with him. I think he's full of shit.

...
Peterson would be wise to give a closer reading to chapter 78 of Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra, titled “The Ass-Festival.” Here we find Zarathustra, the original teacher of the Übermensch, at the end of his lecture on self-reliance and perfectionism, surrounded by a mass of devotees ready to bow down to their new master. Zarathustra, at the rostrum, knows he is whipping his followers into a frenzy — and he hates everything about it. At the end of the festival, a disgusted Zarathustra abandons his followers. But before departing, he shouts a warning: “Forget not this night and this ass-festival, ye higher men!” It is a reminder that a hero’s journey can too easily inspire blind hero worship.

(Chapter LXXVIII. The Ass-Festival.

At length, in the middle of their feast, Zarathustra bursts in upon them and rebukes them soundly. But he does not do so long; in the Ass-Festival, it suddenly occurs to him, that he is concerned with a ceremony that may not be without its purpose, as something foolish but necessary—a recreation for wise men. He is therefore highly pleased that the higher men have all blossomed forth; they therefore require new festivals,—“A little valiant nonsense, some divine service and ass-festival, some old joyful Zarathustra fool, some blusterer to blow their souls bright.”
He tells them not to forget that night and the ass-festival, for “such things only the convalescent devise! And should ye celebrate it again,” he concludes, “do it from love to yourselves, do it also from love to me! And in remembrance of ME!”
