Welfare bill

Postby Lefty » 11 Jan 2018, 07:31

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2018/jan/03/labor-says-nick-xenophon-teams-welfare-deal-targets-australias-poorest-people

The governments welfare bill once enacted will achieve precisely nothing in terms of overall cost savings, any savings made in one place will be eaten up by the costs of shoving more people into poverty.

What a wonderful system - deliberately allow or create involuntary unemployment and disadvantage for the purpose of serving as a shock absorber against inflation (which is yesterday's bogeyman anyway) and then find more and more ways to increasingly punish the victims of the system for the crime of being victims of the system.

We could return to the policy of full employment which ran so successfully for decades following WW2 at any time - the only constraints are ideological.

Election this year! Cannot allow this incompetent, corrupt and divided government to go on!

Fuck the Greens, they could have made the DD so the start date was too late to have a DD (was a matter of ONE day.) But I guessn Dick Di Natale thought he could maybe pick up a couple more Senators in a DD. Now he will lose some at the next election. Greens, more right wing, more ideologically committed to to neoconseervatism and more corrupt than any other Party bar the Nats.
