A letter from Barnaby

Postby davo » 11 Oct 2017, 16:04

I am copying this word for word including the bolded bits.

Dear Davo
By now you have probably heard a range of discussions about my citizenship.
Specifically that the New Zealand Government considers me a citizen of their country because my father was born there.this is despite the fact that I WAS BORN RIGHT HERE IN NEW ENGLAND AT TAMWORTH BASE HOSPITAL AND HAVE NEVER LIVED ANYWHERE ELSE BUT AUSTRALIA.

I WANTED TO WRITE TO YOU PERSONALLY TO UPDATE YOU ON THE ISSUE.
The Australian Goverment has received strong legal advice that New Zealands citizenship laws do not impact on my eligibility to represent you as your local member of parliament .I am and I always have been an Australian citizen, including when I joined the army reserves.
Nonetheless , I asked that this matter be referred to the High Court so I can clear the air and get on with my most important job representing you. I DEEPLY APOLOGISE FOR THE UNCERTAINTY THIS HAS CAUSED THE ELECTORATE.
The High Court is best placed to deliberate on this issue, and their hearings are set down for the middle of October, whatever the outcome, I FULLY INTEND FIGHTING FOR YOU and the place I was born and raised New England.
While this is ongoing YOU'LL HEAR A LOT OF PEOPLE MANY OF WHOM HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR ELECTORATE MAKING ALL SORTS OF MISLEADING CLAIMS FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES. I dont care what they say. My job is to look after you first and foremost, and I will not take my foot off the pedal.
As always ,if I can assist you, your family, our our community in any way, please contact my office. I thank the New England electorate for their support , and I also thank you for your time.

He sounds rattled! Good!

For an accountant he proved to be totally sloppy!

Hope he gets ruled ineligible and Windsor wins NE again. Would laugh like a drain. A Deputy PM FFS and can’t be stuffed checking details? :OMG

I reckon all seven are toast. I've explained why at OzPol, so not going over it again here. But......the High Court could do anything. Having said that, it will not lightly disregard prior decisions.

In all of Tip’s years as Treasurer he was only acting PM one day. Howard thought he was doing too good a job so rushed home from New York or wherever. Joke Parties filled by joke people!

Their defence basically boils down to ignorance of the law which is no defence.

Ok so that is it.

Doesn’t matter that it isn’t a perfect representation: spacing/grammar etc. Pathetic is what it is.

Oh, I think the electorate might be willing to give Windsor another go.

Oh yes, and he is incapable of governing with a 1 seat majority plus 5 rightwing indies, quite useless really.

He must REALLY want to be PM, something to do with showing his Mum who deserted him how good he is really, perhaps. Dunno. If I was as rich as him and in the situation of not being my own man I would just fucking resign and go and enjoy my money! Fuck the RW dickheads in the Coalition!

agree.

'I didn't know' just doesn't cut it.

What's ridiculous is that the countries top legal representative, brandis, is going around claiming it's a defence.

But he's not a lawyer (anymore). He's govt's legal representative. If he misleads govt. about what is and isn't legal, taxpayers pay. He should be sacked on the spot for either ineptitude or lying to the parliament.
