The Queensland government will veto Adani’s application for a $1bn commonwealth loan to build a rail line for its massive Carmichael mine, Annastacia Palaszczuk has said.

Palaszczuk said the dramatic move, amid her campaign for re-election, came in response to what she believed was a federal Coalition plan to “smear” her and her partner, Shaun Drabsch, over his role in Adani’s loan application to the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility.

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2017/nov/03/palaszczuk-says-she-will-veto-federal-adani-loan-as-she-accuses-lnp-of-smear

I don’t care why, this is great news!

Read the earlier posts! Adani would be a Chinese govt operation in all but name! Fuck that!

Piss off Adani you slimy spiv!

That does sound like GOOD NEWS.! :bgrin

Let's hope it is factual. :giggle

Just hold onto the ponies for a minute.
She is admitting a conflict of interest in the mine AFTER she became AWARE the lnp knew her husband involvement. Stinks of corruption.
Any veto needs lnp support which will not be forthcoming.
Therefore the mine proceeds AP gets her cut via her husband and nothing changes.

Shes a more corrupt piece of scum than i gave her credit for

No, she found out the Libs were going to play dirty about her hubby, who works for one of the Big 4 accounting firms and did some work on the Adani mine proposal.

Any excuse to cancel Adani I reckon.

I dare say the power station comes under their energy policy, wouldn't it?

I mean how fucking outrageous that North Queenslanders would want cheap accessible base load power, what a pack of arseholes they should want what you fucking southerners have.

We have enough intermittent power up here, we don't have base load power. End of story,

As for adani, we want jobs, the tuckshop lady has looked after SE QLD making sure their employment rate is well below 5% while also making sure ours was well over 10%. One thing is for sure those 3 state labor members who reside in Townsville will learn all about unemployment next election, they are dead in the water the lying cunts.

I can tell you now, we will not have a lying pack of useless cunts from the labor party running out state after the next election.

She hasn't stopped anything.
Government is in caretaker mode.
Lnp has to support the veto which they wont.

She's waited till now knowing full well it cannot be stopped.
Its a political stunt to draw attention away from her husband and hers corruption.
The mine goes ahead.

She was never one for any sort of real support for anywhere north of noosa, and this side step is merely more of the same.

This bullshit about her husband is a furphy, the LNP are pro-adani they can't attack her for her and her husband being pro-adani.

But her inner city wankers can and will, this is about protecting Trad, not her fucking husband.

And for the same reasons Lab also has to support the loan, which they won't.
The veto is in effect. At least until after the election in which case she will no longer need libs support.

Because she won't be in government.

I guarantee you at least three of her people who hold seats in Townsville will join the unemployment list for being do nothing members. We all know that when you elect an LNP member or a labor member you are getting nothing more than a lying stooge. They have been caught out being nothing more than a mouth pieces for the labor party.

You can elect all the socialists you want in brisbane, without the regional seats you don't get to hold government.

She was barely able to form government last time and only with the help of Katter & the independents. The 3 Townsville labor members are about to get culled and I doubt there will be a single labor member north of noosa.

Robbie Katter has learned his lesson about trusting labor, I don't think he and his party will make the same mistake again

So how exactly do you think this miracle will happen?

No! From 9 MPs to minority government was some achievement.

But I don’t think the Libs have done enough and there is the stink of the corpse of the federal Lib govt still swinging in the breeze.

The only poll that matters is the one where we Northerners get to viciously kick labor in the throat for the piss poor effort they put into running the rest of the state.

possibly because she only recently found out the libs were planning on trying to implicate her partner. It's not like they advertise in advance what they're going to do during the election campaign

AGREE. The LNP simply aren't up to it. THEY are on the nose bigtime. Maybe Francis doesn't remember the last LNP govt. Well I can assure you, lots of US DO.

ADANI is dead. Good riddance to bad rubbish. AP has picked up massive votes with this decision, AND SO SHE SHOULD. The alternatives DO NOT BEAR THINKING ABOUT. Big Ole dickhead thinks he knows something. Well you don't dickhead.
ADANI was a pile of crap from the start. AND NO One Nation will NOT save your arses.. They are flat out filling in a form properly. Dream on Dickbrain. :thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb :c

I'd agree. WE learnt our lesson from the NEWMAN/NICHOLS government. I doubt we'd be so stupid again. Still, I am often surprised at just how stupid some folk are. :roll :roll :rain Oh how lovely... it's raining. :bgrin
