I'm going to come up there one day, seek you out, buy a dozen kebabs then get you to drive me down to the goldie while i eat them all.

It'll be worth whatever the meter reads at the end. :clap

I'll take that. Sunshine Coast to Gold Coast......reckon about $600.00 plus Kebab soiling fee of $150.00......yay. Yer on!

That's fine with me. It'll be worth it just to see you squirm. I'll make sure the kebabs all have garlic sauce just to get the maximum effect.

Who knows, Dondeehippy, Greg and Mothra might want to join me with another half a dozen kebabs each and we can all split the bill

HBS Guy wrote:I DREAM of finding a hostelry that will serve a decent BIG pie with great pastry and an enormously flavorsome filling, meat, herbs, onion etc.

At Westfield Marion I had a Vindaloo lamb curry pie. A one person, one serve pie. Filling: superb, spicy, tasty. Pastry: tasted dead.

From the Central Market I have bought game pies: about a two person pie but while there were hints of greatness the overall impression was: blah!

I don’t know why the perfect pie is such an obsession with me but I do love pies.

Not pies sold by Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler and I want that understood right from the start! (Any other Terry Pratchett fans here???)

Think I might make a bacon and egg pie for the family christmass lunch. Some sort of pie. Time to drag my pie cookbooks off the shelf. Maybe make something from Mrs Beeton. No vegetarian recipes in her cookbook!

Unfortunately I have about given up on finding good pies.
What has really out me off them is when I go to a 'Pie specialist' shop, buy a chunky steak and mushroom pie and get a very poor product.
This has happened twice to me. Really, if you own a pie specialist shop every pie in there has to be very good.
Some of the vegetable pies are pretty good.

The Robertson Pie Shop on the Southern Highlands of NSW. Whilst not as good as they were 20 yrs ago, they're still pretty good pies.

Think I will make a huge pie for family christmass lunch. Pork. Smoke some of the meat, that will boost flavor!

The meat must not be chewy....must flake or melt in the mouth. Nothing worse than a chewy chunk of grissly meat in a pie.

your quote was $600 ... you're not entitled to any soiling fee until after it's being soiled. :up

A flavour some pie is the best -be it sweet or savoury and nothing better than good kebab meat- last time for me was a kebab pack with hot chips- on the way too adelaide- can't wait to go back to get me some more

I like pies. Villies makes excellent pies. Balfours pies are only fit for the rubbish bin, yuck! There is a bakery down south, forget the name, has a stall at the Stirling and Willunga markets that are out of this world: big, hot, filling and delicious! Might visit the Willunga Farmers Market this Saturday and buy one.

Recently had lunch with family at a sushi train place in Castle Plaza. Cost $22, would have preferred a decent pie which would be cheaper!

Only ate a pie floater once—was very young and very drunk. Disgusting!

agree Villis are good for a standard meat pie but not strictly a meat pie due to the pasrty but good flavour- Balfours have a better pie crust and Balfours have the best custard tarts around- we dont get any of these brands ( expect Villis out our way) just as well I say lol

Sushi train was fun but the one I went too with my boy not so fresh- a shame because it was kind of fun- he says the one in town is better

There is one in Gouger St, in the Market complex, that I went to a long time ago was pretty good. I just buy some sashimi now tho when the weather gets hot again will stop buying it: need to be right on top of food hygiene with raw fish.

Tas scallop pies are the go, we sell heaps for lunch as they come with chips and veggies. Add a side plate of oysters and a pint of Guinness and you have a meal.
