Apparently Dubyne is out—would not (could not, likely, is just a snake oil seller, not someone with an interest in climate) answer some questions from Booby.

Tried to toady to (“help”) Setanta but that clown told him to fuck off.

Now he has lowered his sights to Gordon the racist scumbag. Blah.

You are a dishonest Mod of the Dubyne MRB.

You were hoping Setanta would give you pats on the head. Nope, told you to fuck off. Now you are crawling to the sleazy racist Gordon FFS.

Next time you guest post using your normal IP (and nothing wrong with that, doxxing happens in the sewer only) your post will be deleted!

Bobby, I disapproved your latest Guest post...not because you say you are using a proxy IP. Rather, I will not tolerate crap allegations that there is doxxing going on here. You are not banned, and you can log in using your Member account. Don't come here crying about how you are treated. Monk, Mr Smith and myself can say the same about the capricious bans the sewer imposes.

Juliar posts some crap about Ice Age in 2035. Opening para is already wrong:
There was a lot of pop-sci press discrediting Zharakova, the physicist who ended up on the front-page for her model of solar cycles and her prediction that we will have a cold spell centered around 2030
Zharkova is a mathematician not physicist. Her simplistic model could not hindcast known past GSMs which is why it was panned.

Useless. Juliar just posted it to sow confusion about AGW for his LNP paymasters.

More nonsense from Juliar:
Since then we have been in the Holocene epoch, which is really an inter-glacial warming period.
Maybe not. Milankovitch forcings are weak and did not cause regular major ice ages until CO2 dropped below 300ppm. It is now 410-415ppm and rising—so likely no more major ice ages. To confirm that—Greenland is losing 285Gtons ice a year and Antarctica 125Gtons a year and accelerating.

The maximum temperature was 40.9 degrees - this equals the all-time record for November at the City station, previously set on 27 Nov 1894.
Report tweeted by the BuMet.

Will Booby post this in the Dubyne MRB?

The globe is warming, ice is melting and permafrost is thawing. . .tho we are near the bottom of a Milankovitch Cycle and ice should be advancing!

As I have said before, Milankovitch Cycles are weak forcings and only started causing regular major ice ages when CO2 dropped below 300ppm. Not below 300ppm anymore and so the ice is in retreat due AGW.

A Grand Solar Minimum would be a tiny blip on the temperature record. AGW will continue during a GSM.

The Maunder Minimum came about halfway through the Little Ice Age so obviously did not cause the LIA so why should a GSM cause a little ice age now? Nonsense, of course, believed in only by the softest of heads.

Some softheads say we are recovering from the LIA, not really, did that over 100 years ago!

A study into glacier advance/retreat concludes:
The rate and the global character of glacier retreat in the 20th through early 21st centuries appears unusual in the context of Holocene glaciation, though the retreating glaciers in most parts of the Northern Hemisphere are still larger today than they were in the early and/or mid-Holocene. The current retreat, however, is occurring during an interval of orbital forcing that is favorable for glacier growth and is therefore caused by a combination of factors other than orbital forcing, primarily strong anthropogenic effects. [My emphasis] Glacier retreat will continue into future decades due to the delayed response of glaciers to climate change.

The radical decrease of Arctic ice over the past century is remarkable when you think that we are near the minimum of the current Milankovitch Cycle and should be seeing major glaciation!

In one century we reversed 6000 years of cooling!

More evidense for Booby’s Ice Age nonsense:

Adelaide:

Wed 18 Dec, 41.8°C actual (Adelaide Airport)
Today 19 Dec 44°C forecast
Tomorrow 20 Dec 45°C forecast

18 Dec forecast was 40°C

This is all extreme for February weather but it is december!

41.9°C at Adelaide Airport, 44°C on the car thermometer (sun temperature.)

It’s 42 deg here and we now have all the bushfire smoke from NSW.
We flew back from the Gold Coast on Wednesday where it was a comfortable 27 deg approx with a cool breeze, to Melbourne 41 deg and hot wind! I could barely breath!
So strange how hot it is down here in Melbourne being closer to Antartica than Queensland :huh
Is our world going topsy turvey somehow?

They say on the news re fires, to not expect warning, fire truck to come to rescue etc etc
I recall when I went to a fire brigade meeting that we all had to keep our own look out and warn our neighbours etc.
Yet if we spot a fire, to still call the firies to let them know as it could be the first anyone knows of it and could be attended to if any vehicles are nearby or available,
To be honest, I’m nervous Come summertime. And hearing on the news about hottest day in December on record, doesn’t give me a vote of confidence.
I think we are experiencing erratic and extreme temperatures. 20 varying degrees from one day to the next is crazy.

Sydney and Melbourne have always had higher temps than the GC. But the extremes usually only lasts for a week or two. Then Temps will moderate and eventually get colder then the GC.

Traditionally, The goldie will sit between 28 and 32 for about 6 or 7 months, we might get the odd day where temps will get into the high 30;s or low 40's, but it's usually only a day or two. The biggest problem on the goldie is typically the humidity.

This year however we've already hit high 30's a couple of times, and the seasons just starting :grn

Melbourne heat is different to the GC that it’s dry and hot, whereas up there in the GC is more humid and my hair does not do very well up there!
On Sunday it felt hot and dry the heat there. I was outdoors under shade at The Spit as the son was racing there. I put on a lot of sunblock, his wife who is a sun worshiper actually got sunburnt, and it surprised us, including herself. Everyone looked toasty on Sunday. So I noticed there wasn’t a great deal of humidity last week which was odd. Maybe the GC is getting dry heat too! Oh, except that day 100% humidity, it poured rain and came into the house, towels everywhere. The rain was thick and fast and heavy, and 1/2 metre flash flooding on roads!
When it finished, the rains/floods disappear, the roads virtually dry up within hours like “back to normal again!”
Those mad flash floods happen a lot in Melbourne also, but stays wet and cold.
This storm that happened on the GC was apparently a once in a 100 year event we heard. Gympie copped it bad with super huge hail as big as cricket balls.
I was driving to Bunnings and could not see past the bonnet it was that heavy!
As a result, because the spouting didn’t cope, and water got into house from overflow, the OH decides it’s the trees fault, all that “shit” blocking the drains, so got a tree guy to come cut it all down and that was that, I did argue, it’s not the trees fault it rained like it did! But he was getting tired of having to clear the guttering. Those trees dropped a lot of stuff everywhere. I was forever sweeping driveway.
The daughter said “I thought we were getting away from the skitzoyd Melbourne weather only to cop it up here too!”
