Right. ... I might be able to stuff in one more bottle maybe. :roll :bgrin

Tomorrow, I'll get out the hose and the hoe, and work on fully settling the bottles, before I try to cover them. I've been walking on them , gently, using my weight to embed them .. I expect some major subsidence from the action of the water. Twill be interesting. :bgrin

ahh It'll be nice to have an unbroken piece of lawn out there.

if that doesn't work, you can always try grass guard ...... it's meant to allow your grass to grow on your driveway, so I'm sure it can handle a dog or two

Major strides made today. :bgrin

I couldn't squeeze another bottle in and keep them at a reasonable height. So I had hosed them all down yesterday evening. A little prodding with the pole and a light cover from the edges..its mainly burnt wood ash and clay.

This morning I got the spade out and with an eye to the detritus and humps left after dog did her last dig out, I first of all walked on top of them, and then hosed them down. Filled up the hole. Then I tried to replace the mainly burnt ash, clay and wood, back where it came from. ( I'll need to work more on that tomorrow. )

Then, I waited, then added some fine silt/clay organic stuff from around the place, and let it settle. :)

Then I hosed it down again, and topped up the obvious low spots with more silt and surroundings... :bgrin

There is still plenty of fill needed.
It'll settle more overnight, and tomorrow I will get around 20 square cement pavers I have lying about , and place them in the silt. . The land slopes.

I can sculpt the area outside my front door to suit myself. A gentle even slope is my aim. :)

Spend this afternoon getting concrete pavers from their stack, shoveling soil, hosing down ,repeat. :bgrin

SO FAR I've placed 12 pavers , one old brick, and 3 broken pieces of other tiles, slightly different in thickness to fill in the depression left after filling and watering in over the bottles. All the irregularities will disappear, and a gentle slope should appear.

More to do tomorrow. I reckon I need to grab another 3 old bricks, and up to half a doz pavers, before I attempt to do the final fill .
Easier on the back. :bgrin

The soil will settle so don’t rush finishing it.

yeah, I expect it to settle, but the beauty is that altho I can fill it with a hose, it all seeps away,
and as it does, I can continue to place more fill on top, further covering the pavers and bottles.

Even heavy downpours, which can fill that (former) hole in a couple of hours or so, can't affect it.. the bottles will never float to the top.. I guarantee... I don't know how I know it's going to work excellently , but I just do. :bgrin

After that likely another couple barrowloads.

When you finished there, want to move some barrowloads of stuff on my place in Tassie?
