Back part of block when I arrived: deep ripping and rotary hoeing had been done, I measured and pegged to work out where the cider apple and cherry trees will go. Drove in 450mm star droppers, then dumped coarse sand then compost, each layer, soil, sand, compost was sprinkled with gypsum:

Nah, way in the back. Might put up a temporary fence of star droppers and galvo. Junk will be at the front where I have done nothing bar put gypsum on cracks in the clay “soil.” Will be an eight metre buffer between back of house and first line of fruit trees.

You can just see strings and the yellow line is the 30 metre measuring tape. That is in the second picture which was taken before the first one, obviously.

Each mound got dug over, more gypsum spread then a bag of sheep shit poured over. Sand and compost spread and dug in around the mounds, break down that clay.

So—MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI applied to the roots really help the roots to do their job.

Nope. Spreading sand/compost was easy, digging it in is bloody hard—heavy clay soil! Will be worthwhile tho.

Sheep Manure 0.7% Nitrogen 0.3% Phosphorus 0.9% Potassium

Reasonably low nitrogen content—everything I read said keep nitrogen low, boost potassium and sheep shit has the highest potassium. Boosted the potassium with a small hand full of Potassium sulphate sprinkled over each mound.

Finished!

Well, apart from the cherry tree mound. Will just spread sheep shit over it I think.

Garden shed will be put up tomorrow so all winding up on time.

Shit trip back—bloody hot!

Dunno if I will get a cabin again and if I do I will take a sleeping pill.

The SNORING! :OMG

Not just the volume, tho that was RADICAL in the tiny cabin but the variety, all of which were disgusting. One guy I am sure has medical problems.

Drive back was horrid, lots of traffic and stinking hot: if it didn’t reach 40°C it wasn’t for lack of trying. Dog really seemed to suffer from the heat. She drank like a whole bottle of water then didn’t want to drink after that. Seems fine now we are home again.
