... I've known this song for quite some time now, and it still effects me emotionally.

Chely Wright tells the whole story of the song and then sings it to Marines at Camp Ramadi. Even she couldn't quite finish it.

My son showed me this. Apparently it's cruising through the solar system on Voyager ... chosen back in the '70s to represent us earth folk.

It's absolutely haunting. To think of it hurtling through the universe has really stirred something in me:

Gawd, I do hope the Martians find it as they might do better than I to understand one word of it.

That's a very moving song, mothra. I've heard it before. When my son was on his first combat deployment, he took a lot of pictures. He had his laptop, and he combined his pictures with some others his mates had taken and then dropped it all onto a DVD and sent it home. It was set to this music ...

My son is in his high school band. This is their entry in the UIL high school marching band competition. My son was one of the soloists. He plays alto sax.

Hahahaha! That was a different way of hearing some of the classics. All very well played. well done!

I wonder how Mozart would have liked hearing his overture played by a brass band? Dad did say you could always hear a “Oompa oompa oompapa” brass band under his music.
