Umm, I've casting my mind back to when I had that first real OPERA experience. :roll Sounds bizarre, but it happened, ME whose favourite singers ranged far and wide.. but solely within the familiar.

I am almost certain it was a part of her final performance in Australia, at the Opera House. It was an afternoon, perhaps a Sunday, and it was on ABC. She had lost her husband by then, and I can't describe to you how much it affected me. Here I am 20 odd years on, and I still recall the exquisite sound.

There is a track I am trying to find, have it on vinyl somewhere, from “Last Time I saw Paris” I think. Drum and piano, unlikely partners yet fantastic music.
