While the rolex is a very topical thing it represents gifts, donations, bribes etc—corruption in other words! THAT is real.

This is about the useless waste of money that is the Marriage Equality plebiscite (which I will abstain on, useless and Libs will ignore the result anyway) but it does give a nice picture of those charming christians!

And this shows the real nature of the Libs:

Libs dithering on tax etc will continue until the extreme rightwing gets cleaned out. Labor instability lost them the last election—to Australia’s huge detriment—but Lib instability and unfair, rightwing and incompatible policies will lose them this election:

Einstein dies and goes to heaven. At the Pearly Gates, Saint Peter tells him, “You look like Einstein, but you have NO idea what some people will do to sneak into Heaven. Can you prove who you really are?”

Einstein ponders for a few seconds and asks, “Could I have a blackboard and some chalk?” St Peter snaps his fingers and a blackboard and chalk instantly appear. Einstein proceeds to describe with arcane mathematics and symbols his theory of relativity.

Saint Peter is suitably impressed. “You really ARE Einstein!” he says. “Welcome to heaven!”

The next to arrive is Picasso. Once again, St Peter asks for credentials. Picasso asks, “Mind if I use that blackboard and chalk?” St Peter says, “Go ahead.” Picasso erases Einstein’s equations and sketches a truly stunning mural with just a few strokes of chalk.

St Peter claps his saintly hands. “Surely you are the great artist you claim to be!” he says. “Come on in!”

Then Saint Peter looks up and sees Barnaby Joyce. The gatekeeper scratches his head and says, “Einstein and Picasso both managed to prove their identity. How can you prove yours?”

Barnaby looks bewildered and says, “Who are Einstein and Picasso?”

Saint Peter sighs and says, “Come on in, Barnaby.

I guess this can go here, it is political, sort of, and funny and a cartoon in words.

What am I gibbering about?

I am re-reading Terry Pratchett’s Going Postal set on Discworld where a system of ‘clacks’ (glorified semaphores using binary code) carry messages all over the place.

Some unscrupulous businessmen—they exist and blow the theory of ‘free markets’ out the water—took over the clacks company.

There is a para, which I will find and post, about those business people stopping regular scheduled maintenance and only doing repairs resulting in the clacks tower being shut down for a day or days.

How did Terry Pratchett learn of Telstra’s operating procedure?

Yup, similar.

Been tellin' yez that fer years now :beer - read "The Rise and Fall Of the Third Reich".... it is a great eye opener on today's governments .. the only difference with the NAZIs is that they went right off the rails and decided to terminate all their internal 'enemies of the state' and go to war to expand their market share in the global economy.

Tyrants ALWAYS go to war. No one man has all the answers, yes men surround the tyrant so the economy goes south etc—so invade another country you say caused the problems.
