As a cartoonist, I am not interested in defending the dominant, the powerful, the well-resourced and the well-armed because such groups are usually not in need of advocacy, moral support or sympathetic understanding; they have already organised sufficient publicity for themselves and prosecute their points of view with great efficiency. Michael Leunig

I like this one, apparently doing the rounds on email:

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has today announced that he will be firmly committing to potentially making some kind of decision on something very soon, unless more consulting needs to be done, in which case he will likely delay the move.

Mr Turnbull has so far remained very opposed to making decisions or drawing conclusions since becoming Prime Minister, a strategy formulated in the wake of his predecessor’s unfortunate appetite for making 361 decisions a day, all wrong.

“Tony was all decisions and no thinking, whereas I see myself more as all thinking and no decisions,” Mr Turnbull told the Canberra press.

“The truth is I would very much like to create some kind of policy soon because I am becoming pretty bored just sitting around The Lodge and writing pleasant press releases.”

So far Mr Turnbull has shown a sharp reluctance to be drawn on any major issue, only breaking his code of silence once to provide an opinion on terrorism.

“I needed everyone to know that I think ISIS is bad, I repeat bad, and I don’t care whose feathers I have to ruffle in getting that opinion out there,” the PM declared with pride.

Prime Minister Turnbull has announced on multiple occasions that he is not Tony Abbott. Is he ever going to do anything?

A verbal political cartoon, all true too:

Just another example of Turnbull’s vanity –

Turnbull and Realism. The Labor Party candidate for the seat of Wentworth has launched a blistering attack on the art world and on his political rival Prime Minsiter Malcolm Turnbull, in a post on art website The Art Newspaper yesterday. Hughes, son of Sydney gallery owner Ray Hughes, wrote about the decision to close his father’s gallery, that the art world has “been taken over by dickheads” and this anecdote about a young Malcolm Turnbull:

“I will be running for office this year at the forthcoming Federal election for the Australian Labor Party in the blue-ribbon, harbourside Sydney electorate of Wentworth. The seat is currently held by the most popular conservative prime minister in recent Australian history, Malcolm Turnbull, whose family I have sold paintings to. In the 1990s, when Malcolm was still a merchant banker, the Turnbull family commissioned one of my father’s artists, Lewis Miller, to paint a portrait of Malcolm. Unhappy with the work, Turnbull confronted my father at a function and exclaimed: ‘That artist of yours is no good; he’s made me look like a big, fat, greedy cunt’, to which my father replied, ‘He is a realist painter, you know’.”
