We have enough sun and coastline (off shore wind) we could be self sufficient.

even though it's not the best solution if we stopped exporting all our LPG and converted all our vehicles we could easily stop importing OIL. then from the saving build our renewables to take over. :purple

LPG (liquid Petroleum Gas)is still a fossil fuel that poisons us and our land, a car running on LPG in your garage will still kill you like a petrol one. :purple

All fair comments…

Now I need to think of things that WOULD make me smile..... if...??

ummm

off-grid local power production
highly subsidised electric vehicle implementation

all refugees cared for as common law requires
no child should be locked up in jail

I can think of lots of other wishes ....

Parents teaching their children to be responsible for their actions and not to depend on a nanny state to bail them out after poor decisions.

Assange is treated fairly
Assange is supported by the Australian Government
Assange is recognised as a whistle blower for ALL of us
Assange is never thrown away to the US agents for domination

I'd really smile, and even laugh with joy if Julian was set free.

Ditto.

Unfortunately, though, they're going to make an example of him.

I fear nobody will come to his aid.

well the Australian government certainly has deserted him. Never shown him any support.

Only the people can save Julian.

All the agents for central government control of everything WANT him punished. Oh and the odd fool, here and there.

Have you worked out that economies never provide enough jobs for the entire population yet?

Yes, but we could use the savings to eventually invest in renewables.... like you said!

Those that look for work can find it. Just like my parents, I started with nothing and am doing just fine.
