I'll let you know. Maybe you could buy a bottle. We could compare impressions.

Sounds like a plan! Will buy it on Saturday.

Will see if there is a stubby (half bottle) of a Deschutes beer there too.

We have high excise on alcohol.

Wow! Those prices!

I pay about $17 for a box of 12 Mirror Ponds or $34 for 24. They're charging $93!!

What does a similar good-high quality domestic pale ale cost in Australia?

If that is what it costs in store, Deschutes will be an Aussie free beer.

Box of 30 VB cans costs me around $AU60.00.

Damn!

I didn't care for the Sheaf. But it was only 4 bucks. My recommendation is to pass on that unless you really want to.

Hope you can find some Deschutes, though.

There is or was an Invalid Stout made here. Was a decent drop, haven’t seen it for ages.

Just need a stubby or two. Would stay clear of any “IPA” ones, might be a bit hoppy. I am happy with hoppy.

Buying them singly costs more than in bigger numbers.

But buy a carton of the IPA, if you don’t like it you can send the rest to me :bgrin

Yes, they do. It's this one.

Lighter in taste than the ales. Crisp and fresh tasting. I think you'd like this.

Wow!

What a regressive tax! The government taxes beer here too, but not that much! Nowhere near that much. What do low income people drink in Australia? Kool-Aid?

It's like gold!

$50 - $55 is about the average we pay for a carton of beer (24 stubbies).

It's not that expensive, really.

The average salary here is $84,000.

The minimum wage is $18.93 per hour.

Wine is relatively cheap.

That does not look like an ale. Is it a lager? If so, I'll look for that too.

It is a lager, a Pilsner.

Pilsner Urquell is the original BUT comes in green glass bottles, not good.

The present Club House winner is the Asahi, closely followed by Heineken, closely followed by Coors with Bud a bad last.

Bud has a special place in my heart. My grandma loved bud and even talked the hospital cleric to put some on a swizzle stick and put it in her mouth the day she died.
So many fond memories and having a bud and playing cards and hearing what a dill Bush was or any other president of the day hehe. Ohh she lived in the mountains in northern cal. :purple
Ohh and from my grandfather I got the taste for the best beer in the USA good old blue pabst ( I think I spelt that wrong) in the can of course.
Bongalong... for some reason women are just so superior to anything that ever existed or will ever exist!

Blue Ribbon Pabst is reckoned a pretty good beer by my yanky HB friends. A corn beer, better than a rice or sugar beer. Does boost maltiness a bit.
