Online food delivery company Foodora facing legal action over alleged underpayment of staff

Australia's Fair Work Ombudsman has launched legal action against food delivery giant Foodora, accusing it of underpaying its workers by calling them independent contractors.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the Federal Court, involves three Foodora workers from Sydney and Melbourne.

The ombudsman alleged that between 2015 and 2016, Foodora breached sham contracting laws by telling the workers they were independent contractors when they were in fact employees.

Foodora was contacted for comment.

More to come.

this could be the end of companies like deliveroo and uber eats. The won't be able to make money if they have to treat staff as employees, nor will they be able to increase their fee's as most restaurants will pull out. They already take 30% of the total invoice amount, many restaurants are in it purely for the goodwill. With the delivery companies take their is no profit for them. .

they may be able to add on a delivery fee to the consumer. It'll be an Interesting case to follow. The companies in question might want to think about increasing donations to the libs before its to late for them.
I hope that bitch who was running their brothels for them gets raped with a cactus.
