had hundreds of kids through where I live this afternoon , tricking and treating

My wife bought a 1.5kg bag of lollies, i thought it was to much but we ran out

My kids missed most of it as they had Jujitsu training ... they had a quick run when they got home at 6pm and still they managed to fill up their buckets

never seen anything like it until i moved to the GC.

I'm glad my kids are adults.

I didn't have to put up with that crap, or mobile phones.

it will probably be different when I move out of a gated community and into the suburbs ... For some reason trick or treaters target gated communities. They tend not to do it so much out in the suburbs

Live on a yacht atm so don't get alot of kids. Get a couple local marina kids. Everyone here makes a effort too scare them and give them Lolly's.

Its just a bit fun for the kids...can't knock it

well , sort of. The roots of Halloween lie in common cultural heritage with The US and us. The pilgrims took many beliefs with them when they moved in on the Nth American continent. They carried on the traditions from the old country, and so we have Halloween.

Australians had different imperatives, I guess, when our forebears came here. It seriously PREDATES American crap by thousands of years.

Make of it what you will, but I tend to see it as a frivolous thing. Not to be worried about, as it's inception/conception predates our knowledge, and we just play games without comprehension. So typical of the ignorance which runs our society.

When it first became a new thing here..at least 20 yrs ago now..... I was horrified... to have two small children appear at my door that night.

Thing is I live on bush acreage, there is no light, my driveway is dirt and over 100 mtres long.. :OMG I looked around in the dark, and asked where are your parents. are they close.? All they said was YES.. poor little fuckers.. :sad

I had nothing but a shrivelled old apple and a Mars Bar or something. I gave that to them, and they were obviously disappointed. But almost mute. I sent them off.

I couldn't fucking believe any parent would do/allow these wee kiddies to walk into the dark like that, to an unknown house.!!

:WTF :WTF :WTF

I now have locked gates, which I didn't have then. Guess its good I never had kids... I would be too protective it seems. :purple

Peter Dutton Dresses Up As Himself In Terrifying Halloween Prank

The Immigration Minister arrived at Parliament House today dressed as Peter Dutton, in a terrifying Halloween prank that startled school children and adults alike.

One group of school children ran straight towards the exit screaming, when they spotted Mr Dutton walking through the Parliament House foyer.

Holly McNavis, 14, said she won’t sleep tonight after seeing such a realistic portrayal of the member for Dickson. “I saw someone dressed up as Bronwyn Bishop on last year’s trip, but this is next level,” she said.

In one incident, Mr Dutton – dressed to look like Immigration Minister Peter Dutton – knocked on the door of a staffer. The staffer handed over food and treats and hid under his desk, begging the intruder not to play any tricks.

Mr Dutton plans to visit members of his electorate this evening as part of a regular doorknocking campaign. Householders are urged to have treats on hand, or risk having their house egged or families deported.
