so the euphoria has faded, but I could watch that race again and again.

In fact all her 29 winning streak races are worth watching, all in a row, because she is amazing. Astonishing, magnificent, brilliant, all those words apply to Winx.

She could win next year's Caulfield Cup easy peasy. An extra 360 metres would mean nothing to her.
She is now in her prime, strong, and fit.
People said she could have gone around again, she pulled up so well.
Well lots of commentators said that... her team were more circumspect.
But you know ? she could... which would mean she could also win a Melbourne Cup. :bgrin :wub

Of course, the beaten brigade will make it harder to attract opponents in future.

The new crop of youngsters will try to take her on.
Or the next attempt by internationals.

Bring'm on. :rose

Didn't she look mag today.? IN HER PRIME. :rose

The owner's have the say, but there really is no point in retiring her at this stage.
They'll NOT take her overseas either. If any other's want to come take her on, they're welcome.

:bgrin :beer :wub :wub

I agree with that. They come here. She has SFA to prove.

she barely got puffed.

So true. She trotted back to the crowd like one of those show ring ponies. Totally relaxed, and sort of......*What's the fuss about. That was just a piss easy race.....no big deal*

I hope they don't retire her.

YES.,.!!! :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin

I never doubted her, and she surely showed her magnificence. :clap :wub

Bowman rode her a treat.. and barely moved. :bgrin

Loved the Pommie git getting down and kissing the feet of one of the owners. He'd put shit on Winx and Deb challenged him. I didn't see THAT, but I did see the git get down on his knees, and then kiss her feet, because Winx won. Great stuff.!! :thumb

Seriously people... we'll never see another horse ike Winx in our lifetime. 29 wins straight. 4 Cox Plates, in a row....
an outstanding win today, and she barely got puffed.

I do wish that they'd race her over longer distances. SIGH.
She could win the Melbourne Cup. :smitten

Yes today at 4.00 pm Winx will win her 4th Cox Plate. Unprecedented.
Bowman has to show us he has the class to match the horse he rides to victory.

Re: Winx the Magnificent

Yes :wub

This will be the hardest race of her life. She hasn't faced many horses of this calibre, altho those she has she has beaten, and she will show her class, when she wins on Saturday.

Re: Winx the Magnificent

well that was a wake up call for all Australian owners and trainers.

Looks like we have some significant new challengers for Winx in the next Cox Plate, NEXT SATURDAY.!! :jump I'm so excited :bgrin

The world has come to take her on, and the rest of the Spring Carnival ribbons.!

The Caulfield Cup, yesterday, shows us a whole new brace of challengers,...….. Northern Hemisphere (NH) horses, brought here to win the major races this Spring Carnival. The first five place-getters in the race were ALL from the NH. A clear dominance, ..a lesson in class.
It also applied in some other races...

The field for The 2018 WS COX PLATE is going to be fascinating.

This could be the race of her life... :bgrin but she'll win as long as she has no accidents or bad luck.
Winx the Magnificent is in for the race of her life..!!!
Bowman MUST show his class as well, because this is THE RACE for WINX.
4 consecutive WS COX PLATE wins :bgrin :rose :rose :smitten :wub

Tomorrow we have the Caulfield Cup. (2400m)

The outcome will impact on the field for The WS Cox Plate.
Some runners are claiming a go at Winx.
Let's just wait and see. :bgrin

It will be intriguing.
Weight-for-Age over 2040m.

Only Bowman can defeat Winx.
He tried hard last time, but she won anyway.

A message for Mr Bowman.......

Do NOT trap her at the end of the field.....

Yesterday's racing has added some spice to the field for the WS Cox Plate in 2 weeks at Moonee Valley Racecourse.

Winx will be winning her 4th straight WS Cox Plate. :bgrin

But it seems this year she will be facing many more horses from the northern hemisphere, who have been racing here in prep for the Cox Plate. Some strong showings this weekend.

It will a different race this year, :roll but none of them will beat Winx, (as long as she gets a good ride), and barring bad luck on the lead-up.

Anything is possible in racing.

Re: Winx the Magnificent

So now it will be 3 weeks till she races to win in her fourth WS Cox Plate 2040m at Moonee Valley.

One of a kind, I watched the race today and you could be forgiven for thinking she couldn't win.

You could be, but you aren't. :bgrin :yahoo :clap :rose :wub :wub :wub

What a horse. :wub :wub :wub :wub :wub :wub :wub :wub :wub

I never doubted her, but not that impressed with Bowman's ride. :yak yak

But it didn't matter. :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin :yahoo :rose

She’s bloody good, isn’t she?

Re: Winx the Magnificent

The Turnbull Stakes, over 2000m , tomorrow.

:rose

She's going to win her 28th straight win, and her 21st Group One win. :bgrin

Free-to-air on Channel Seven, and I'll be watching.

It is a very interesting field this year. There are some stunning performers taking on Winx this time, not just the same old beaten opponents.

I find GRUNT an astonishing animal... and he would be my pick for second place. Perhaps Youngstar for third.? Don't quote me. :bgrin :roll

Nah this is a tougher than usual race... Winx will win... :wub

it's the also rans that will prove significant for the rest of the Spring Carnival.

YES and barring bad luck she will go on from this to win her 4th WS Cox Plate. :clap :clap :rose

Re: Winx the Magnificent

Winx the Magnificent won her 27th straight race today. :yahoo :yahoo :yahoo :wub :wub :wub
Also her 20th Group One win. She has won 30 of 36 races, the last 27 consecutively.

She is now the 5th highest stakes winner in racing history, worldwide. The rest of the Spring Carnival, including the WS Cox Plate is likely to see her reach the top of that field.. as well.

Her next likely race is a lead-up race to her 4th COX PLATE win :bgrin coming to your screens soon. :thumb

could be the Turnbull stakes, in 3 weeks. Not sure if that is confirmed yet.

Watched the Ch 7 broadcast from about 1.00 pm.. not bad … but oh those lily-livered commentators... :roll When it came to the race...

Winx was running absolutely true to her normal pattern. Bowman, for some reason decided to hit her with the whip a couple of times. (arsehole)
Coming up to the real race... the last 400 mtr.. she knew what she was doing … he's just sitting on her back to make it legal... :mad

and the commentators, all gasped... oh NO. :OMG :huh :WTF .. I mean really they all should have known better
than to DOUBT THE MIGHTY WINX. :mad

Bunch of wankers :bgrin
