Correct. And that was the common knowledge part. Atoms obey the laws of Quantum Mechanics, NOT the laws of physics. Since atoms can never stop vibrating, they will always have some heat energy left(point energy). The second part is, that once you remove all the heat energy from a system, there will be no more energy left to remove. But it would take an infinite amount of work to remove all the energy from the system. Since we can't provide an infinite amount of work to remove all the energy, we can't reach absolute zero.I'd say they can't get molecules to stop so no absolute zero just off the top of my head...
