Death Valley is my guess. I know because my son recently told me. I felt ripped of that is wasn't Australian.

I've forgotten the actual temperature but from memory it was over 55 degrees Celsius. Which is very hot indeed.

Got it. The air temperature was recorded at 133F, 56.7C, in 1913, the hottest ever recorded anywhere on earth, in Death Valley, CA.

That's just unreasonably hot. And i thought the Adelaide summers were nasty. Although this one hasn't been too bad at all, thus far.

I think Don gets to ask the next question though.

Coldest temperature in Australia was read at a newish weather station in the Tasmanian Highlands. Idiots like Booby jumped on that as “proof” of the GSM/Ice Age.

nope that was Tasmania's lowest temperate in August last year .
A nipple-hardening -14.2C (6F) was logged at Liawenee –located in Tasmania’s Central Plateau– at 6:01am Friday morning, August 7.

I would expect that the coldest temperature in the U.S. would be in Alaska. I’ve heard of temperatures getting way low, like -50 F, but I don’t know what the record low is.

One of my yank homebrew buddies lives in Wisconsin and told some tales of cold. Hearing your spit freeze on the way to the ground, etc.

That's a good guess. Without cheating, I would say you could be right. Minnesota would also be a good guess. I'm going to stick with N. Dakota though.
The coldest temperature recorded in the contiguous U.S. is 70 degrees below zero, measured at Rogers Pass, Montana, on Jan. 20, 1954.

Your Turn Seth :)
