What has Biden been up to?

It's sort of a circular, mutual feeding. CNN says something, Biden repeats it, CNN repeats it adoringly, Biden says something else, CNN repeats it adoringly, then it's CNN's turn to say something ... etc, etc.
yet when Trump was in power, even after he left your using Fox for your sources.... :p
If in doubt go to the source... l like how you still bring other outlets into itpurple bounce

I wouldn't go that far. You are a complete dickhead sometimes though. This being one of those occasions.
I'm angry, mothra. From the standpoint of a parent whose son has gone through hell because of Iraq, I'm angry.

Iraq is not worth it. I don't want this president sending more troops to that shithole; I want him to bring them home and to get out.

If you Australians don't agree with me, send your children over there. The Pentagon and Sensible Stately Joe and NATO need your children to go to Iraq.

Why is it just me you collect adjectives from, Seth? Why do you seek to diminish only me in this way?
Mothra, it's just my apparently not very funny sense of humor. I am not trying to diminish you.

As i understand it, no orders have been given, it is merely one of a number of proposals the Biden administration is looking at.

Yeah, but when the Pentagon puts that out, it's because Biden wants them to put that out. I predict that this will come to pass, and 4 years from now, we'll still have troops in harm's way in Iraq under this president. At least Trump reduced their numbers in Iraq. Biden's Pentagon is talking about increasing them.

I don't want this from my president.

If we hadn't deposed Saddam Hussein, there wouldn't have been an ISIS. But since that did happen, we did have to go help get rid of that scourge. That mission is as complete as it can be. Oh sure, there are probably still small ISIS cells and adherents who escaped death or capture, but they are no longer an existential threat other than isolated attacks here and there. I don't want us policing Iraq forever. I don't want our young people who serve our country getting wounded and killed for that country. I want us out of Iraq - and Syria too for that matter. I want our military involvement in those countries to come to an end, and I don't see this president doing that, and it makes me goddamn angry.

If that's being a dickhead, then I'm a dickhead.

how angry are you at Trumps inability to deal with the Trump Flu and caused 350,000 deaths on his watch..... before you say there was nothing he could do, Australia has 900 deaths... Plenty could of been done......
Exactly how many troops did Trump remove, was it as many as Obama ?
who was Obama's VP again ?????

Just for the record, last year before the election, Trump announced that he was going to draw down our troops by half, and he did it after the election. But I am not going to start "But Trumping" when Biden does things. What Trump did on Covid has no bearing on what Biden is doing about Iraq. And just so you know, I was happy when Obama pulled our troops out of Iraq in 2011. I have never been one of those who criticized him for doing that.

they'e all different Seth. Thats the point. You just want to pretend this is bidens doing because it suits your ideology
If Biden increases our troops in Iraq, that is his doing - no one else's. If we continue to suffer casualties and spend hundreds of billions of dollars on Iraq on into the future, that is his doing.

Biden dismisses Uighur genocide as part of China’s ‘different norms’

By Emily Jacobs

February 17, 2021 | 8:24am

President Biden is dismissing the genocide against the Uighur population in China, dubbing the mass internment a “different norm” — despite the State Department this month responding to “atrocities” in the camps, following reports of systemic rape and torture.

The commander-in-chief made the remarks after being asked during his CNN town hall Tuesday evening about his recent conversation with his Chinese counterpart, starting his response by relaying Xi’s justification for the abuses.

“If you know anything about Chinese history, it has always been, the time when China has been victimized by the outer world is when they haven’t been unified at home,” Biden began. “So the central — well, vastly overstated — the central principle of Xi Jinping is that there must be a united, tightly controlled China. And he uses his rationale for the things he does based on that.”

China, a nation that has faced a wave of international scrutiny over the past few years relating to its activities in dismantling democracy in Hong Kong and its refusal to accept responsibility for negligence and a lack of transparency at the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, has not let global tensions stop its mass internment of Uighurs in Xinjiang province.

President Biden continued in his response that he is “not going to speak out against” the Chinese Communist Party’s belligerent actions in Hong Kong, against the Uighurs, or in Taiwan.

“I point out to him no American president can be sustained as a president, if he doesn’t reflect the values of the United States,” the US president continued. “And so the idea that I am not going to speak out against what he’s doing in Hong Kong, what he’s doing with the Uighurs in western mountains of China and Taiwan — trying to end the one China policy by making it forceful … [Xi] gets it.”

“Culturally there are different norms that each country and their leaders are expected to follow,” he continued.

The “norms” in China, as shown in a recent BBC News exposé, include systemic torture and rape occurring in Uighur concentration camps.

Following the release of the BBC report, China banned the outlet in its territory.

Asked during the town hall whether there would be repercussions for the CCP over the genocide, Biden sidestepped the question, saying the US would “reassert our role as spokespersons for human rights at the UN and other agencies.”

It's 2021, and Joe Biden is the President. It's not 2003 anymore.
