Because, undoubtedly, they show how little he actually paid ... because of laws passed by Congress about depreciation and losses.

And, he has always known that they would be used against him by the very Democrats that passed those laws ... just as they have done.

And, because he is an American citizen with the same rights to privacy as any other American.

I wonder if Joe Biden will come clean about the money his son paid him from the deals his father, the Vice President, got for him from China.

Don't hold your breath. (Hunter says it was half.)
Yes, but he does not believe that at all. He believes that the tax returns of POTUS cannot be subpoenaed, and he argued that very position in Courts all the way up to SCOTUS who told him to piss off (and that included Kavanaugh and his other nominee before the death of Ginsberg) and that his returns can be validly subpoenaed. He is now having a last ditch effort asking SCOTUS for a 'review' of the matter. Nah, that ain't gonna work either as SCOTUS will only review if there is a Constitutional issue in play or if there are conflicting decisions in between different State Circuit Courts. He really ought to be restrained as a frivolous vexatious litigant, just like Clive Palmer here.

American Rights.....................He Has Rights, & the Government, bound by a Constitution, written by & for the People, must Constitutionally respect those Rights........

Any non-American would be hard pressed to find a place on Earth where the Rights of the People must be so affirmed, protected, & defended by a subordinate Government, who's mere existence to legitimately govern relies solely upon the consent of The People they are duty bound to serve.

Yeah yeah. However, what you and Seth are ignoring is that he has delibertately himself set up so that instead of paying tax to his own beloved USA, he is paying tax to China and other Countries. America first, you know. He always said that.

Wherever one has assets, in order to protect those assets, one must pay the lowest legal sum to protect those assets, & whatever benefits they afford.

Simply put, whatever is required by law must be dealt with.

The President, like any other American Citizen, will always look to legal advice on how to pay the lowest taxation possible, simply to remain just within the law.

Knowing what that is, is solely the business of the taxpayer, & the entity he directly pays the taxes to (ex: the IRS).........simply put, even though he is MY President, it's none of my, or any other citizen's business to know..........his taxes, as is any other American Citizen's taxes, are no one else's business......they are private unto them/us.....unless one freely wishes to share that information..........period.

Of course, Just like Trump always wants.......the USA comes first and no way would he want to support China, or any other Country by paying tax there rather than the USA which must come first.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "support"....supporting anyone, any Country.......you must, as a taxpayer, look at it with the understanding that if you pay ANY Country, even your own, one cent more than you have to is a wasted cent. I don't equate paying more taxes that necessary is a positive thing....like supporting your home team.....or supporting someone else's home team.

If Trump had to pay $95,013.65 in taxes to China, I'm damn sure that was the least he had to pay, just as if he had to pay $5,921.74 in US Taxes, that was the least he would have had to pay.....just because he paid the Gooks more than the Yanks, doesn't mean for 1 second that he favors the Gooks, no...he just owed them more to keep himself legally free from any tax obligation. One penny more to ANY tax man, including your own Country's, over & above one's obligations would be wrong.....Better in your pocket rather than the governments....any governments......

Oh dear.

All that .. support.
Seems the US Constitution is like a short BIBLE. Very useful for arguing ANY SIDE whatsoever, by the look of it.
It seems to have become the perfect vessel for Vox Populi.
Take that as you will.
.
Seems lots of quasi-militia ,, ( my view) are preparing to TAKE UP ARMS to PROTECT Polling Booths. And the PRES.
I bet the media are getting as many bullet-proof vests as possible ..approaching what could be a fizzer.. or a real fuckup.

Do you think we can do without words like “gook?” Asian or Chinese is more appropriate.

Yes, but this ain't the USA, where the Constitution rules the roost, this is MONKS lair, & as such he, & only he, makes the rules....which I respect....especially when politely asked........but hey, I'm human, & I can slip time to time

Slip ups are not a problem. I do not like racism and I want the language in the Politics boards to reflect that these boards are for “fairly serious discussion” which does not mean the odd four letter word matters a damn but should not be used as a matter of course.

The word “gook” I believe was used by Allied soldiers in Viet Nam—and of course the word can be used in a quote from or about that war. Your meaning in more general discussion of Asia will be clearer tho with use of ‘Chinese” or “Indian” etc.

If I needed to, I would use the collective generic term "Oriental" too, which I would often do rather than use the ....to me.... awkward term "Asian", especially when talking about the people of Japan.

cynical profane bastard
that word started (although not how many think). in Korea, during the US interference ...... "Chingu" in Korean means friend

however all the poor uneducated hillbillies drafted to fight..... appropriated that word and made it "gook"(sorry)

to describe any asian person in their next war (Vietnam)

while rich mummy's boys like like trump just got their daddy to get them out of it.

then make fun of the real soldiers who suffered

it is an awful term......... just like sand nigger........

what you say DRX?

Yes, but he does not believe that at all.
I think he rightly believes that this is nothing less than a purely political exercise.

Anybody with an independent mind knows that he's right.

Almost instantly, as soon as some records were released to the litigants, they were made public. What does that tell you?

He believes that the tax returns of POTUS cannot be subpoenaed, and he argued that very position in Courts all the way up to SCOTUS who told him to piss off (and that included Kavanaugh and his other nominee before the death of Ginsberg) and that his returns can be validly subpoenaed. Whether or not his tax returns may be subpoenaed is a legal argument put forth by Trump's attorneys. He hired them to represent him. He is not a lawyer. It's not that Trump is saying his records cannot be subpoenaed, it's an argument by his attorneys.

In order to determine a state tax, a taxpayer must provide a copy of their federal tax records. This means that the State of New York is already in possession of his records. And the IRS. These are agencies that have enforcement arms, enforcement arms that are capable of prosecutions.

If there is something illegal about these records, why don't they just prosecute him like they would any other citizen?

These litigants that want Trump's records are interested in politics, not justice.

That they are also politically damaging against Trump. He is going to jail for fraud on Banks at least.

If I ever mounted an argument on behalf of a cliet which the client did not fully authorise, I'd be hung drawn and quartered. Lawyers act on the instructions of their client. They may not go on frolics of their own.

You have a profession because you know the law by far better than your clients do. They hired you for your expertise. If I wanted my tax records kept private, I would tell my attorney to use any legal argument he deemed appropriate. Technically, yes ... The attorney represents your arguments in court. But from a practical matter, it is the client following the advice and counsel of his attorney.
