trying to compare Antifa antics, to Trump's calculated Demonstration and storming of the capitol building to stop them making Biden President are two very different things...

Trump had been setting up pence for weeks before this ,saying quite falsely Pence had the power to overturn Bidens Predency.... When Pence did the only thing he could do and endorse it, Trump immediately Tweeted his followers saying Pence was a traitor, Trumps Presidency was being stolen and told his followers to march on the Capitol Building...... He used his power as the leader of your country to stop Government throwing him out....
If that is not treason, not sure what is......

what is really telling is 3 days later and no White house briefing on the incident....... why !!!!!

There is apparently a four day impeachment option. Point of impeaching him—stop him running again.

After what happened recently, he would never get nominated again.

No chance. I'm sure I'm not the only one time supporter who would not vote for him again.

If I were a Democrat partisan, I would want him to run again.

there were a lot of people saying there was no 'no way' or 'no chance' about trump when he first said he would run ... And he won an unwinnable election

i think they'd rather make sure this time than risk being wrong again. Once bitten twice shy and all that

I say let the electorate decide, not Democrats. There is no way he would get nominated again. No way.

the last time they let the electorate decide he attempted a coup ... i don't think the US can afford to take a chance. The guys a psycho and if you can prevent him running again, you'd be remiss not to do it.

Whatever. Either way, he'll never be the president again.

We've got Covid to deal with. We've got troops in harm's way overseas. We've got a divided nation.

If this is the Democrats' idea of "healing" and "unifying", they can all go straight to hell.

As opposed to the republicans way Seth? For 4 years all they did was divide and divide yet again. All you heard from trump 'us v's them' rhetoric and you stood up and defended and cheered for him all the way through. I think it's a bit rich you suddenly demand Biden unite the nation before he's even started.

Jesus! I keep repeating myself. *sigh*

The Democrats were completely divisive from before Day 1. Trump was just as combative. Plenty of blame for that to go all around.

We wouldn't have as much of this if we had term limits on Congress and we instead had a Congress that actually wanted to do the things the country needs it to do.

And John, I'm not the one who is calling for healing and unity. Biden is. I'm all for it, but he is calling for it.

Is he serious? Or is it just a bullshit platitude?

Effective in 10 days, Biden and his two houses of Congress are solely responsible for the direction they take politics. It's all on them in 10 days.

The electorate decided - and look what happened.

America must do everything possible to prevent him from running for public office again.

I'm not even talking about him actually winning - just the campaign alone would be extremely dangerous.

And imagine what would happen if he lost again - it would be a full-on civil war.

Just think about it: he runs for President in 2024, and suffers another landslide defeat.

How would his cult members react to that?

He must be totally excluded from the American political system, and that includes campaigns.

He is, as you say, a sociopath and he hasn't finished destroying everything in sight yet.

His terrorists have planned more attacks for January 17.

They plan to attack every state capitol building this time, and they have been explicitly told to come armed.

America doesn't want to wake up on January 18 and say "Gee, maybe we should have done something about him before".

The impeachment must go ahead.

And how do you think that might turn out?

He's allowed to run for President again in 2024, and he loses.

How do you think he and his supporters will take that?

"Oh well, I gave it my best shot but wasn't lucky enough on the day. I'll just leave President Harris to continue the good work of the Biden administration and I'll retire to play more golf".

If he has another shot at the White House, and loses (to a black woman), last Wednesday will look like a church picnic in comparison to the destruction he'll unleash after a second loss.

He MUST be impeached and he MUST be convicted in the Senate.

Your Nation is divided.. no doubt about it. Has been long before TRUMP arrived. He has taken advantage of the parlous state of your Nation, and made it much worse.
