So, if I wanted to get simple info on you.....say your date of birth......I would have to go to the place they record births. What year were you born in......hell, that's right....I'd have to guess......now I remember you said you were 58, or was it 57....hell......I have over 700 days to choose from.....help me out here will ya.....I trust ya won't lie....yer not that kinda guy......well, I'm pretty sure of the date.....a clairvoyant told me it was some time in the summer, but were you born in Australia, or somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere.....shit Aussie.....give a guy a break......thanks....& you would be lyin to me now would ya......ok, ok, now I got the exact day direct from you.....I just look up all the people born that day with the surname Aussie.....this is easy....

Please, be serious........I'd only find out who you were if you published it somewhere on the net, & you were foolish enough to tell someone, who told someone else, who told someone else, who eventually told me somewhere down the line.....

All of that is true. But......my point was that YOUR info is out there in the public domain. It is up to Forum Owners to ensure the privacy of their Members is not breached ON THEIR FORUM if they have a Rule about it. Simple as that. Let's not over complicate the obvious with silly stuff.

i know that info i put on facebook is out there. Thats not the issue. The issue is that it's not up to you or anyone else to release that information on these forums. And I know that once it is released that you can never put that genie back in the bottle. I'm not trying to do that. What I want is that the perpetrators not be given the opportunity to do it again.

Highly doubtful in this day and age. There is all sorts of information on just about everyone out there if you know where to look. I post here because it allows everyone a certain amount of anonymity. It's not up to anyone else to take that away. You can give up your id if you choose to, but not mine.

People can accept that laws exist, but that doesn't mean that everyone will obey them.......enforcement will sometimes lower recidivism rates, but even that will just hinder some.....never, ever all.

That said.........some here seem to believe they live in Camelot, under King Author, with Sir Lancelot at their beckon call to defend their sacred honor.

We need to take personal responsibility seriously..........We must be our own first responders.

If you don't want your deepest, most secret & sacred details splashed unscrupulously about the internet...........Don't tell anyone, no matter how trustworthy you believe them to be............Don't publish any of your personal information anywhere on the Internet, no matter how secure you believe they will be..........& make doubly sure you forbid your children from ever doing so, & even if they promise you they won't, never stop verifying, & looking over their shoulders.....never.

Now, if you aren't prepared to, or you don't think you have to, subscribe to the suggestions above, you are surely all damned fools, & deserve not a split second of my or anyone else's pity......your information will continue to run the risk of being outed, & you will only have YOURSELVES to blame for it coming to pass.......not the government, not the company you bought something from, & surely not a Forum owner of the forum you join.
